I agree. I would rather see more headroom in the highlights. Usually I rather pull the shadows down than up. The dynamic range is nice but nothing special even in cheaper cameras for the last few years. But who cares, nice photo!

new firmware announced...but i dun c it on nikon SG website...

jus went to TK foto and bought the phottix grip for sgd99.

1st impression.
decent build, soft rubber grip, metal threads for tripod...
hv to try it tonite .

i read abt other grips havin this issue that when u rotate the dial command fast, u get mis-click.
eg, u turn 3 turns, but only 2 adjustments register by camera....hv to try tonight

It's certainly not a bug, they did that on purpose like on other lower end bodies.

Yeah, was going to order from Amazon US, but decided since not in hurry just let the local shops bring it in. WU-1A a lot of stock though.
