D600 or Canon 6D

Yup it is very personal. You know what they say about one man's meat...

I, for one, find the ergonomics of Nikon cameras allows me to work very very quickly with direct controls to almost everything and savable settings banks. I have shot Canon before and find it to be a little counter intuitive at times, especially their lower end bodies. And Nikon bodies just feel a lot more comfortable to hold for me.

Pointers noted, and I do have to agree that is personal preference when it come to the selection. From reading comparison, I battling it out to give up some wonderful "C" function that I really like. Especially when coming from a novice point and have quick access to a fixed configuration is nice. The other aspect is really on the low light performance. I am wondering since D600 also fare well in low light. Can it do well in capturing faces expression in a concert hall situation. Where by there is probably little light around the object and spill over lighting effects from stage. Likely will be taking without tripod.

I may be asking for something that I have venture into before. Maybe if anyone has been to such environment, has tried with D600 can share more with me. Many thanks in advance.

If you don't underexpose your subject and have the focal length reach to get the expressions on the face, I don't see what's the problem? Unless you are asking in regards to low light focusing...

To my personal experience, usually the focused subject on the stage have the spot lights on him/her/them, so It should be relatively bright and not a concern...

You are not supposed to use a digislr to take photos during a concert. You would be disturbing others in the audience. User base affect most buy decisions. If you have 10 Canon EF lenses, then that makes up your mind which to get. Similarly for any other brand.

Even my simple NEX with the 18-55mm kit lens can do that. You just need to understand metering.

Forget about buying a FF dslr. It's obvious that what you're really missing are skills.

With the correct exposure settings, high enough iso for a good shutter speed to capture motion/expression then u shouldn't have any problem. btw, nowadays, the iso performance in DSLR is very usable in 3200/6400 range esp in full frame dslr, no matter what brands u r using. so u can't go wrong with D600 or 6d.

You mean, when you shoot from the audience? That's what I did too. Those are in-audience snapshots.

No, shooting from in-audience toward stage lighting is definitely achievable.

No, not to do any recording as well. Take it shooting in an low lighting environment. Capturing audience expression or candid shot in possible low lighting is something I am may be doing. It is not anything that is not allow especially if an authorized person.

If you are going to get a job as an authorized photographer... and you still need to ask these sort of questions... uhmmm...

Better get a flash. The only place where they will let you go around taking pictures of the audience will be major rock/pop concerts anyway.

Also, be very aware that authorized performance photographers have pretty strict limits imposed. They can only be shooting for the first 3 songs, etc.

Actually, what is consider too high ISO to you? For FF sensor, I believe ISO can be set as high as 6400 without too much of a problem, sure... there will be noise, but I doubt it will be that much that it became undesirable (at least to me).
