The closest thing that you can find is 17-35mm F/2.8 and we don't see any intention for Nikon to update this lens at all...

They will be cutting their biggest customer base if they ever do that.. Unless they cut the entire DX line and focus on FX and Nikon 1 series, where the pros and enthus goes for FX and casual users go for Nikon 1...

If I'm not wrong, all super tele lenses are FX lenses, even the economical Sigma 150-500mm is a FX lens.

However, there are birders who use FX bodies instead of DX bodies for birding.

Surely the range will be good..and yes not wont be small...too big..nobody will like/want..or maybe you might be ranting "too big.." as well..dont be surprise. Oh wait. It will be heavy as well..
So if they were to make it small and light. How much do you think it will be priced? And how many people will buy. Come on..be realistic..it will happen..maybe in the future but that should take awhile more or much more.

so u wait for few months before they release the camera
then another few months for me to see if i should buy the camera

still happy with my d700 / d7000
is always better to upgrade the lens first
i can always loan the bodies from CRC
