I think d600 will be 2200 range... SG always more ex.
Means d700 maybe will drop below 1.8 already

Dropping to 1.8 yes the set is on 2nd hand.

The brand new has been out of stock.

Not true... it's back in stock. Not locally of course... but in a distant land not too far away.... ;)

Well... times a changing... D400 may not even come given the fact there hasn't been any smoke signals blowing from that direction, other than the 80%-sure D600...

Given the crop capabilities of the Fx... what's the real need of Dx? Sure, maybe 600 is hardly the 300s in terms of speed but future Fx models would just overcome that.

I started with a used D40, couldn't be more happy. Then a good deal came along, I bought it, a used D90. I have decided to shoot D90 till it breaks. Now people are saying an entry level Fx is coming. Give me lightweight, at least 24mp and high DR. :)

First Nikon DSLRs that came out wasn't even Fx to begin with, and the resolution CMI for heavy duty work...

I believe we're just entering the beginning of a new phase... Where the Dx will eventually be phased out... and Fx slowing coming in to fill up the ranks.

Who knows, in not too distant future, Nikon may have to enter the MF market? (of course with newer glasses to boot, most of the latest glasses can satisfy the D800 anyway)...

Say, not doing mirrorless... comes the Nikon 1 series..

Say, not doing MF.... comes the D800 with first foot into the MF arena....

It is possible that there will be an Mx label ahead? :bsmilie:

Ha ha wait the Nikon 1 series to be used DX sensor 1st.

Wait got one day is coming...

But in the Rumors has been reported in 80% of D600 FX entry level to be release end of this year.

They won't change the Nikon 1 series to DX, because then what would happen to the existing Nikon 1 lenses? And after that they have to redo their whole DX line up because those DX lenses are so large...No point having a small camera if your 18-55 kit lens is 2x-3x larger than the camera

Ha ha I agree with you..

Well, it is STILL not official.... but more news at NR...

Now who's getting hyped over this already? Sure, it's no top end Fx... 39 AF points is the one that makes this still lower than D700 that I see. :)

Even D300s beats this with their 51 AF points!

[pray]Please... Nikon...
Put the D3S sensor and processor into a mid-size body, give me 3 AF points and 3fps for all I care. You may even remove the AF motor, as long as I get double memory slots.
Put that all together and sell it for US$1K.... :)[/pray]

It might not even have the top LCD... I think it is going to be like a D5000 type of body.. every thing adjust through the info button. and of course, no AF fine tune...

I know. I started with a D70, and was fortunate enough to have 5 AF points.

Then came the D300s. Was spoilt silly! Haha.

Seriously, I have been very appreciative of the 51 AF points because:

- it is amazing when tracking fast moving objects

- it is fast and effective for low depth of field work, where recomposition will render the photo out of focus on the part that matters.

I hope not!

I hope not!

I hope not too... but if they want to lower the price to the rumoured 1.5k USD, something's got to give... And that price, I don't think there will be a replacement for D300s. Fpr pros who really need DX, they can simply switch to DX mode in D800/e
