My D600's at the 30K shutter mark now, still pretty clean.

Thinking how to send in and get NSC to change a new shutter before warranty expires.

Took a friend to camera shop in Funan to get a new D600 a few weeks back (got receipt to prove). He took less than 2,000 shots so far. Told him to check for dust on his sensor and sure enough he said he has them. So going to bring him to NSC tomorrow to get it clean. Those of you thinking of waiting till the problem is cleared on later batches of D600s can wait some more I guess.

still got ppl prefer to wait?...then might as well wait and ponder what might hv been....replacement model for d600?...

Ya i agree, the diff between them and us is we have $2.5k less while having 9 months worth of superb image quality pics, while they gain/lose nothing :p

I just came back from japan and coming from d80, i must say theres so much more i can do with the super ISO perf. I can now shoot handheld into the colorul dark streets lit by wonderful lanterns. No problems. The colors coming from the camera is really gorgeous. and theres so much resolution, i can use it to record down huge maps, and still be able to see all the tiny words at the edges of the maps

Using a wide angle lens with face detection, i can do some quick self portraits handheld, without worrying about focus issues.

Just fantastic. Dust? Im too in love with my d600 to care about them ❤❤❤

shiok factor is priceless...lol

Nice to see that another TS like about this camera.

Just gotten myself with the D600 from Cathay and S/N is in the range of 804xxx and now clocking ard 1200 shutter counts. SO far no oil or dust spots on the sensor and been ultra happy with the image and video quality of it. Now making me wanna invest more into video equipment to get those cinema quality short clip... ha ha .... wish me luck

Glad to hear that. You have tested all the way down to f16 or below?

Shot a few sunset over the weekend. Found about 10 or so little spots after I pushed the contrast.

Now thinking when to send it in and see if I can get a free shutter change.

Sent my unit in again in late May. Just mentioned to the front desk the oil/dust spots recurred despite 2 previous cleanings, they asked me to leave the cam behind for 5 working days. Asked them what they intend to do on it, they told me they would change the shuttle. Not even asked me to show photo to prove. Job done in 3 working days.

Sweet. Will do so after this week.

Cross fingers!

Abused it quite a fair bit already, time to give it a new shutter. Haha.

No more D600 dust problem for me cos I got rid of the camera. Pity cos it was a good camera otherwise.

Ehm same. Jumped to Canon :x
But it served me well.
Lol I opened this thread before I purchase the d600 and now I leave him behind

Not to worry bro, instructions from Japan is to replace new shutter mechanism if got complaints about dust on sensor. Do check your AF after you get your camera back. Mine had back focusing problems so I junk the camera in the end.

Got the 6d or 5d3?
How do u the performance compared to d600?

Oh I jumped to the 5d3. Tested the 6d but I did not like it.
Though 6d is in the same league as if in d600, I did not like everything of 6d except the ISO control.

I didn't test the d800/d800e though. So I mean, if d600 compared to 5m3, it isn't exactly fair.
But ISO is very nice. CF + SD has nice recording speed + buffer space. More public reviews are all around :)

My conclusion to jump:
A hell lot better ISO control
More lenses to play with from my friend
1/8000 shuttle (5d3 instead of 6d)

what do u mean by 'better ISO control'?

is it the ability to have auto-ISO, a quicker way to change ISO or better high ISO performance?

Ooo that's bad. It's ok, the D600 is my abuse, backup play toy, not too worried as long as they can fix it.

Hi Guys,

May I know if the new D600 on the shelves still has oil/stain issue? Thinking to get one since my brother sold off his spare D700. Really love the camera and didn't take over from him is because i prefer to get one with video function.

Also considering a 5D Mkiii since i don't own any lens. Will pair it with the Sigma 35 f1.4 will do which i really love with the D700.
