what do u mean by safe?
if the dust issues bothers u, then dun buy n get other models.
no point if u spend ur $ and b bother by this.
spend ur $ and enjoy it, not constantly worry abt something which might not even affect u at all...

Lolll! R u serious? U r kidding right?
Dust creeps inside everywhere sooner or later. But we're talking here not just about dust you can blow off, it's about sticky stains of lubricant.Hmmm interesting... this is something new to me
I guess theres nothing compact camera users can do for dust
Hmm, I guess ur right...
Ok lets not OT too much and get back on topic
Hows ur d600 so far any dust for new batches from japan?
Went to buy a D600.
Serial number high 803... 50 shots, no dust.
Tested a 804... just came in this week but I found 1 black spot on top left corner.
of course take the 803 one although it could have been an old batch.
Did you do 50 clicks in a shop in Singapore before you handed over the cash? And the 804 had one spot right out of the box?
I think the 803 appeared in December last year in S'pore, the 804 in March this year. No need to worry about the serial number as long as it produces clean images.
50 clicks, no bro. thats not nice to do at the shop right? I did 5 clicks and saw the black mole!
Mine is 8039XXX. The 804 I saw was 8040XXX (remember a lot of 0). So not much difference in serial number.
Might as well do a mini review as a D90 + 16-85mm lens upgrader.
1) Overall exterior quality. Miss my old set up. not as sturdy and not sure how long the rubbery grips on body can last. All the caps quality also not as good. MIC D600 kit lens, a world of difference.
2) Image quality. OH MY GOD. 2 things.
a) colour... There is a world of difference in the colour. No wonder my D90 DSLR shots like cannot make it these days vs pro-sumer compacts these days.
b) ISO 3200 rocks! Breathing techniques.. what is that? haha
3) Shutter. I have an obsession for the solid clicking sound, if not Canon would most likely by $7k richer (total $ spent on camera over the years). Very solid. No wonder got dust problem.
4) Weight: So far non issue. In fact, somehow I am holding the cam better. Do not even need a conscious effort to ensure horizontal Horizon.
5) View finder: Better. I don't know why but I could not see the whole view finder in my D90. D600, no issue.
Last words: Fuji XE1... try harder... hehe..
PS:by the way, I am selling my DX set up![]()
I have not seen mirrorless images, but i guess its good for ppl who do not require FF. but rather just want a camera that can take good clear shots. A camera with good iso perf and low shitter lag for casual shooters.
Even tho the d600 is small, its still substentially bigger than mirrorless and might prove to be heavy and tiring for ladies.
By the way if someone is interested at Gain City Changi City Point they still sell a rare D600 body-only kit with a 80123xx serial number at RRP.
