Today just sent to Nikon center due to dust shots... Will see what the service center will do to the cam or just cleaning.. will share the outcome when collect back..

When Nikon or Canon introduce any new model the first patch usually ship to USA & follow by Europe and last Asia. Good or bad the the big gun will be the first testing ground for new launches. Our Asia are not that badly hit. I bought a Nikon D600 last month until now I don't have any dust or oil issue. I don't think everyone are affected only a small minority in Singapore. I am very happy with my Nikon D600.

the 'small minority' happened to be members of CS?

the oil/dust spots are not goin to show up that easily if you keep shooting at apertures of f1.4 to maybe f5.6 range.

anything from f8 onwards, most will see the dust/oil spots. maybe you don't pixel peep and hardly zoom into 100%.

its the same with the D800E, despite repeated cleaning everyday after and before usage.

its a problem, but not big enough to make me go mad.

As he said, im more to shooting non-la dscape items so generally my aperture doesn't go smaller than f8. Tried to shoot 1 sunset with around f12 to f15, post editing was crazy with all thw spots there

there is an image dust off function in Capturn NX 2. try to read page 251-252 on the D600 manual.

Agree... Or spot healing/cloning shud do the trick. Shudnt take long...

i got the dust back , did abt 1k+ shots since my las sensor cleaning

guess i should go back and ask them to do a shutter unit replacement

Mine was 5 days and they changed shutter - perhaps yours too.

I mean, you guys just walk in, show them they images that have spots and they will fix, clean or change shuttle?

I just went to NSC, told them my problem and they changed shutter for me

Yeah, hopefully they will change the shutter mechanism.

Cheers.
