the ultimate combo is...

sign up HSBC or Standard Chartered credit card.
both banks currently give you S$80/. when you sign up for one card.
I think HSBC allows up to 2 cards, thus, u get S$160/., of course, you can only use 1 card per transaction.

top it up with the NS45 vouchers, you can shave off up to S$160 (S$180/. for some) from your purchase!

WA!!! HUAT AH!! BUYBUYBUY!!!!

Depends, there are credit card charges :)

Of course, can tell TK to split the card charge into 2 cards, then utilize the $160 fully :)

Did that before, don't understand why 1 card can't get through, so had to split two cards to make payment.

Hi guys, is it possible to see the suspected oil spots using sensor scope? my new lespen sensor scope seems like not magnifying enough for me to see any of them. TIA

Why don't you look for them the normal way? mount a lens and drop aperture to minimum. turn off AF, fire a shot at a white wall overexposed 1.5-2 stops.

Well i guess... To ppl who uses the car solely as a form of transport, i guess a dent might not matter much, as long as it still brings him from point A to B. It does its job right?

Personally I do not view it this way. If I'm spending my hard earn money on something brand new, I think it's just fair to get my money's worth.
I would not even say that "It brings him from point A to B. It does its job right" kinda way, if all I wanted is shoot photos, I will be happy using my iPhone. But in this case, I wanted something better than that. I expect to get better results than my iphone or point and shoot camera.

No offense intended, I'm only speaking for myself. ^^
I really hope they find a fix soon.

Because you want to see the dust when you're actually cleaning. It's more efficient that way.

I bought a 40x jeweler's magnifying loupe with an LED light. I'm going to try that this weekend.

Yup dun worry, not offended. Its just different opinions.. Theres no right or wrong :)
To me, if it can be solved then all the better. But if it cant, i dun think tat is a big enough problem to deter me from buying it, i still think its a good camera.

Btw i just got it back from shutter replacement but haven tested it out yet. Will report back later on my findings...

Not sure how will this be helpful to us in Singapore for this dust and oil issue. NikonUSA has this as quoted;

Thank you for choosing Nikon for your photographic needs.

Some D600 users have reported the appearance of random spots on their images which is generally attributed to the natural accumulation of dust.
While understanding that dust will occur over time, and steps may be taken to reduce the occurrence, the complete elimination of these dust spots may sometimes be difficult.

It has come to our attention that, in some rare cases, they may be reflected noticeably in images and removal may be difficult using normal measures. Therefore, Nikon is informing users of a service to reduce this issue.

Resolution

As a first step, please follow the guidance from the D600 User's Manual (pages 301-305) related to the Clean Image Sensor function and manual cleaning using a blower bulb.

If these measures do not remove all dust particles and you are still experiencing problems, then please consult your nearest Nikon service center. The technicians will examine the camera thoroughly, and service it as needed.

Requesting service

See the following for instructions on requesting service by a Nikon service center.

http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Service-And-Support/Service-And-Repair.page

Please direct inquiries regarding this matter to your nearest Nikon service center.

We hope that you will continue to choose Nikon for your photographic needs.
