Mine is 8011, and at f/22 I currently only see 1 spot after 800+ shots. Though I do some cleaning before, but it's just compressed air blowing.

Bro, why not consider the 6D, since the dust issue bothers you so much. By the time this issue is solved (maybe never), a new FX is already out.

BTW, I only have 2 tiny dust issue at f/22, should I bother ? One of the bro mention, better to worry how to take good pictures.
My serial no starting from 8029, end Nov.

I know, it's most likely it will never get resolved. The 6D is a great camera but I'm not too confident in the sensor. :)

What's wrong with 6D's sensor though?

To me.. no difference. D600 or 6D = use center AF :bsmilie:

u can ponder what might hv been, or enjoy wat had been

go out, buy n shoot

I Think he's refering to the 6d image sensor, not the af points.

That's what I do all day long here in Japan with my OMD already. :)

Can tell because of the texture of the wall you shot against.

Very different than if you had shot a clear blue sky. That's where the dust pops out and catches the eye.

np, i can try tat again if any1 needs.
clear blue sky hard to get with the weather these days

but some of the dust r pretty clear, no need clear sky.

I had done a wet cleaning on the D700 sensor and everything turned out fine. I think the D600 is the camera for me for its size and performance. I got one from the US, so no choice, will have to clean the sensor myself. I think it's good to learn to clean ouselves as sometimes we may be abroad on holiday and need to do it by ouselves.

Very disheartening to see the spots.

Yeah, I've similar dust spots, looks like the 3000 shutter count mark was wrong, that the spots will go away..

Looks like yours is caused by frequent changing of lens rather than the camera's deficiency, as your dust are well spread across the whole sensor. Mine is all the time on the left side only, which is what most people have reported.

On a side note, at f29, I believe most cameras will exhibit some dust specks, the D4 included.
I do landscapes mainly at f14 and they show up too, though not as distinctly as what's shown in yours.

My advise for hard core macro and landscape shooters to look elsewhere first. If your genre is people, this will be a non issue 99.9% of the time.

Wasn't that clear from the beginning? It didn't even make sense.

It does make sense.
Remember most of the new vehicle need 1000km run in time for the first oil change? the subsequent interval time is longer.

Yeah you're right, it still doesn't make any sense.

i seldom go to f8 n beyond, unless it's nite shot.
does it bother me?-kinda, but not really.i jus get it clean at the NSC and c if it comes back.

instead of pondering what might hv been, i'm shootin and enjoyin it

the answer is "Yes"?

If you clean yourself, you are only cleaning the low-pass filter, not the sensor itself. So the answer is No.

People are still cleaning old cameras in service centres, never heard anyone say the sensor spoil after cleaning, so don't need to worry. :)
