No as mentioned already above, it will behave like any other dirt on the sensor, same rules apply.

If you do not use above F8, you cannot see the spots... cannot see, doesn't mean it is not there.

Wrong. :) It totally depends on the photo.

well.. just speaking generally.. unless you really got a big o spot.

If you shoot macros you can easily see small dust specs below f/8 without pixel peeping depending on the background.

This shows that even after more than 6000 shots, the spot still appear.

What a surprise...

So later shipment have this problem? I am thinking of getting one.:(

I bought mine late December. I thought mine was exempt from the problem: at 600 frames I didn't see debris on images. Now at 1200 its clear there is some small amount of debris.

I'm happy with it, but resigned to the fact that I'll be doing my own sensor cleaning--at least for the near future. It's the only rational option.

(Nikon will clean for free, but if you have to take weekdays off to drop off and pick up, it's not free at all, the time is very valuable!)

Is doesn't matter when you bought it, only the serial number does matter. Last time I checked in December a few shops here had ancient serial members whereas others had pretty new ones.

So which serial numbers are newer and has no problem ?

I am not sure cleaning the sensor too often will cause problem to the sensor.

Hard to get information about the serial numbers in Asia, most information is just about the US and UK. At the end of December some store in Singapore were still selling serial numbers starting with 8011 whereas other stores had already units starting with 8034. I'm still thinking of buying one in Japan while I am here but I think it's just too risky, I should better forget about the D600.

Bro, why not consider the 6D, since the dust issue bothers you so much. By the time this issue is solved (maybe never), a new FX is already out.

BTW, I only have 2 tiny dust issue at f/22, should I bother ? One of the bro mention, better to worry how to take good pictures.
My serial no starting from 8029, end Nov.
