No they won't.... They kept telling me for one whole year that it was dust on my D7000 camera(DX)and they just offer to clean my sensor as and when needed... You can imagine how much time i wasted and how much time the camera had to be away from me to replace this and that.. But in the end, the problem still did not go away, I was very impressed with the dust spots!! They were so accurate!!! Every time the dust will end up at the exact locations after cleaning!!! It was only until I decided to take photos of the sensor under a microscope to show them that the dust were in fact oil droplets!!! only then they shut up and gave me a replacement... Shake head....

that is a good one.
someone mentioned FX sensor easier to get dust, oil etc. IMO, that is pure bullshit.
You hv to get even with them man, as another has suggested. LOL

btw, just don't understand how come there is SO MUCH oil in there.
Production operators in Thailand sleeping and squeeze too much oil into it???
or oil is so cheap that no harm put more?? LOL
Poor design??

Recycle oil lor

Maybe the QC operators like to eat fried chicken..

Hi, regarding the dust or oil spot / stain is ready depend how you many clicks on shutter with speed of frames.

They is nothing to control the dust or oil spot to be stick on the sensor, Unless you change to mirrorless camera.

No matter how it is clean at the end still have minor dust spot.

If you're newbie to be holding the 1st DSLR that is no experience before, that's fine.

If you're jump from DX user, I was believed you should knew it a little bit.

Dust or oil stain is nobody can guaranty you :)

I will soon get even with nikon if they dont replace my oily but faultless unit....

By jumping to Canon!

And my name will be canoneer.

LOL, i like that!

btw, from what i know, there should be some kind of non-oil based lubricant available.
JUST DON'T understand why they choose oil:sweat:

could it be cheaper and to cut cost they choose it now.
Heard from some bro that he has been using about 9 dslr for the past 10yrs [upgrade one every year? wow] and never has such problem.

Correct... Nikon system should not have any oil in their cemera. I dont care if it destroys my shutter gears if they dry out my system, as long as the sensor is clean who cares about the shutter?

He uses 3 bodies for his purposes and is a very accomplished photographer in his field of specialization. If you do not know or understand the situation with others please refrain from insinuations. This is a final friendly reminder.

Hahahaha!!! Now I am 70% Olympian already... Or if you are as patient as I am!! I took 1 yr to get the replacement done lol...

As for people with oil spots problems, it is not new. Having problems early in the product cycle is common for many camera models before, and will happen to many other camera models in the future.

If you choose to be an early adopter to be the first few folks to own the latest and greatest, you need to bear the risks as well that there will be some faults and defects that come with any new product releases. Each camera comes with a warranty and that is what the warranty is for. Getting the problems resolved involves going through the right channels and not having a nasty attitude in the forum and laying that bad attitude on others in the the forum.

This serves as a final warning to everyone. If you face a problem, you can talk about it and discuss. But do not cross the line by insinuating violence, and/or having a very nasty attitude that start affecting other members in the forum, neither is bad language (in acronyms or in full) tolerated.

Please read the Forum rules again if you have any doubts on what is acceptable behavior.

Yes Sir, Roger Sir :sweat::sweat::sweat:

Just because a few people have a problem with oil doesn't mean there is an oil issue anyway. People should concentrate more on the positive aspects of their camera.

Why would nikon replace a faultless camera in the first place?

Always at top left portion. This morning after Marcos section, still got the same spot at same top left portion. Try shooting at f20 & above, then the spot is more visible.

Same top left for me.. went to NSC and they said it was sensor dust and cleaned for me... No question asked by them.

actually come to think of it, anyone have real info how NSC clean our DSLR sensors? Do they use specialise cleaning tools or machinery or just using those swab stick method sold on internet?

There is no way we can get away with oil issue. Without oil what will happen to the gears?

Why would i jumped to canon if my cam is not faulty?

Id rather use 1 second spot healing brush than 1 week spot removal....
