Ya, agree. I guess we are all fools. LOL
it is sad. things are getting bad nowadays. Guess we can no longer put trust [thrust?] on such icons of quality?
shock to find out that some brand actually put a black electrical tape as a fix for a light leak problem. Sad......
may be we shall put THRUST instead. LOL

I find your misguided anger disturbing.....

Not anger, but sadness.

I didn't realise with sadness you will swear and throw things at others. Gee, hate to think what you would do when you're angry.

you spend 2k+ on a camera to find out oil splashed all over the sensor......of course angry first lah. Then after that will feel sad mah.
unless you are damn rich and 2k is like 2c. LOL

You need not get angry, just get even. I find that more satisfying.

@@" Well Cathay seems out of stock for this.
Definitely will try it out for around 20~30 shots when in store before paying. Hopefully I can get on with one that is free of problem.

Therein lies proof of your misguided anger. :)

no lah, you said get even. I asked you how to???

If you can't think of how to get even without getting angry then no amount of telling is gonna help. Some things, you learn as you grow up ;-)

Actually FX is really easily get more oil / dust spot.
To be compare as DX the sensor really is big and blocking more dust / oil spot to be stick on the sensor, if smaller got dust as minor only cause the sensor size smaller and not need the bigger mirror module also.

Thinking back, I had a D300 before that kept having dust spots, which eventually was replaced by Nikon (within the first 3 months). They didn't tell me what was wrong. Problem never recurred so I didn't think too much of it.

Hmm...perhaps anti-dust mechanism was faulty?

Well Nikon never admit any faults right?

No they won't.... They kept telling me for one whole year that it was dust on my D7000 camera(DX)and they just offer to clean my sensor as and when needed... You can imagine how much time i wasted and how much time the camera had to be away from me to replace this and that.. But in the end, the problem still did not go away, I was very impressed with the dust spots!! They were so accurate!!! Every time the dust will end up at the exact locations after cleaning!!! It was only until I decided to take photos of the sensor under a microscope to show them that the dust were in fact oil droplets!!! only then they shut up and gave me a replacement... Shake head....

You should have put up the photos of the oil droplets here so that the whole world knows that it is not dust problems.

Malaysian Ming Thein did that with issues of the left AF for the D800.

Till today, Nikon did admit about the AF issues with the D800.

I am just sharing my experience dealing with NSC from my d7000 mishap that happened >1yr ago.. If u do google searches, i believe the 'whole world' has been talking about the issue and perhaps the D600 too.. Now I am a happy owner of an oil-less D7000(well maybe some dust after so long). This is a D600 thread and I don't have one(yet). Better don't confuse people.. If you are really that interested u can pm me and I will send u some image examples..

I am 1 of the lucky D800 owner (touch wood).
Called up the show, checked

I am 1 of the lucky D800 owner (touch wood).
Called up the shop, checked the price, went down, physically checked it, not try any shot, paid and off I go.
Been 3 weeks witk 3K+ shots...all looks well except, my lousy technique that have lots of blur photos in the 1st week...lolz...
In Singapore, what ever you purchased a product, it's difficult to get replacement, they will sent in for repair. If the issue resolved, happy for both, if not, replacement will be the last resolve with multiple repairs on the same issue.
Good luck!!
