This kind of dust exists in most DSLRs after usage, so isn't it over-hyped if one has to start a thread on it? Not saying it's wrong, but can see user's acceptance level is very low. Even my old D2X also exhibits the same dust 'issue' explained here, and it's weather sealed too. What's less my D4.
Unless its oil spots.... Lets bother less about dust and shoot more![]()

Even Dpreview has an article about this issue. Did you watch the timelapse video recorded by the canadian guy? brand new D600 1000shots with one lens got so many dust after 1000 clicks.
To be honest, your acceptance level is lower than most of the ppl here is your problem.
And we don't need you to remind us we should use the time to shoot instead to complain here, everybody knows that except newcomers.
We did nothing wrong to highlighting this so that everyone will know before buying one.
Actually that of getting it.. After reading this I held back.
Was at nsc about 2 weeks ago and got 1 aunty beside me complaining to the counter girl that very inconvenient to keep coming back to clean the sensor... It was like her 3rd time

ok, who keeps asking his mother to go NSC? ;p
Johnbon said:ha ha... the aunty asked the counter girl that she read somewhere that nikon came out with permanent solution already right...?? I guess the permanent solution is to clean it regularly lor if use often
Nobody will be able to answer you that question at this point. Something inside the camera seems to wear off rather quickly and produces some kind of debris while the filter in front of the sensor seems to be quite sticky in this model.are all units affected?
soeypixels said:actually the fuji s5pro also have this oil issue on the sensor
send in once, need to wait 1 week!
the rest of the time i just use a cotton bud to tap dry the sensor
eventually the oil dried and no more oil
as for sensor on the dust ..most of the time the swiss blower does the job
used my d700 for yrs then send in once to clean the sensor,
the technician still said WOW so many dust ah .. doesnt really matter cos i shot usually wide open
even shot in studio at f16 also cant see
Unfortunately not any new information.Thom Hogan have some info about this dust issues in D600:
