Hmm...lens creep , front focus ring loose n can't focus end up back to NSC ...rather soft corner at 18mm ....

hehehe... not only that, go search the old posting on the problem of 18-200mm VR1....

Hi guys,
got another query that needs your advice!

I've been facing problems for my continuous shot for my d5100.. though it can go up to 3-4 fps, but when i shoot it shoots at most 1.5 fps even at high shutter speeds like 1/1000.. wonder if there is anything wrong with my settings.. care to share your settings?
Also, does the Class of the SD card play a part in the continuous speed, or does it affect the buffer top-up time only?

Was totally cui-ed when i saw the d5100 going at 3fps in this video : lynda.com tutorial | Shooting with the Nikon D5100—Continuous mode - YouTube

Thanks :)

Most probably it's your SD card bah... The Class affects how fast the data is written to the card. Get at least a class 6 card. Or can try Transcend class 10 cards. Cheapest of the lot but not the fastest.

Do you like to edit your photos? If yes, go for RAW. If you are as lazy as me, you can shoot JPG Fine L .

When i shoot human portraits, I prefer to shoot JPG as i trust the camera more. However, when i shoot birds, i would shoot RAW as the surrounding environment always fool my camera and i do not have the time to adjust my setting at all when on field.

Oh, ok. What kind of editing can i do with RAW format pictures?

Think that was a sandisk card issue n not class10 cards.

Before i update the firmware, i do not encounter this problem, after i update the firmware, i encounter this problem, anyway i just format the card using the PC first then format again using the camera. Let see if the problem still pop out or not...

u can consider tokina 11-16 f/2.8 also.. although u can only manually focus on the d5100 since it lacks an in-built AF motor.
