Test using ur kit lens n u'll know.

Been figuring to find out how to manual adjust the white balance value but can't seen to find.. ?

I believe D5100 WB is done in menu. Press the 'Menu' button, then press the 'Info' button to access the right column for "WB" settings. I don't think D5100 let's you set by Kelvin, you got to choose betw. the scene preset values or do a sample Pre WB shot.

Haha finally!!! I'm proud to say I'm a D5100 family member...
I gt a question. If I wanna take "jump" shots (people jumping in mid air), wht should I do to get a focused photo? I tried continous shots but all blur de how ar

Oh i wasnt too sure because i was trying to shoot indoor and i place in Sports mode.
Reno can advise me wht to use?

Elephant84: no prob. Enjoy ur new cam:)

Cowseye: thanks :) I think the most can do is go to menu, WB setting then press right key to adjust the value. Should be no Kelvin scale though.

I have one qn.. Are we able to view the taken pic's info on the LCD? For eg the pic taken with what aperture or shutter speed or iso etc? Do D5100 has this feature or only higher end body has it?

If you are shooting indoor, i believe your shutter speed is not enough. You might want to try to increase your ISO such that your shutter speed can reach up 1/250 - 1/1000. If such shutter speed is still not enough, you may have to go even higher speed.

yes, luckyorange is right, when you view/review photo try to press up or down to see settings of the picture taken, I think you can also set on menu what details you want to show during photo review.

That is strange, D5100 batt can last quite well. Did you kept using the flash ? If not then u must have not fully charged your new batt during the 1st charge

Did you use the LiveView to take pictures all the time?
Did u take videos other than your 200 shots?
Did you change the standby time of your D5100?
How long is the image preview after your shot?

For me I never use the LiveView for shots and I will always switch off the camera after the shoot. :)

did you leave it on while walking around? I found that it drains my D7K batt quite fast if I left it on.

I know Liao.

It's called the "new owner's syndrome" or "new gadget must play syndrome". :D

Play with the menus and buttons until battery's half drained then start taking pictures that's why. :D
