Yep I've read up alot on CS before purchasing.. Alan wasn't really friendly when i went just now.

So I bought from TK instead. Quite a mild and friendly guy named CK attended to me. Yep so in the end i bought the package they quoted me previously.

congrats on your new buy! btw, what's the Sirui pod?

Tt Sirui the pod, is like a sandbag tt u can screw ur cam on. Then it can be placed over uneven surfaces. Nt really practical I think. Haha $19, I wasn't even thinking of a tripod or monopod when I was buying.

And anyway... I've got the SD Card problem too!!! $@#<?¥&euro;>##!!! I had to reinsert the card WHILE the camera is on for it to continue working my card is a SD class 4 by the way.. Saw previous threads having this problem, has anyone found the root cause yet?

Hi, I bought my D5100 together with a Sandisk 16GB Class 10 which keeps giving me problems. They also gave me a free Sony 8GB Class 4 which works perfectly. I have also tested another memory card, a Kingston 8GB Class 4 and it also works without problems. Really regret buying that Sandisk and the shop refuse to refund or change another brand for me

The shop doesn't have 7 days exchange policy. The thing is the card only has problems on the D5100. On other cameras and devices, it strangely works without problems. So in the end I'm using it on my cheapo camera.

actually not mysterious lah... its just Nikon's problem which they are not rectifying at the moment. I wonder why they are taking so long or why they are not admitting it's their problem.

don't need any freebies and if possible, just want to buy the body only.
been waiting to purchase a 2nd hand d5000 but the 2nd hand market price is just too close to a new d5100.

D5100 is sold as a kit with lens only. They don't sell just the body.
