Hi guys just got the 5100 kit this afternoon, but found one dust which I suspect on the mirror? Because when I remove the lens I can still see it there on the view finder. Because I just bought it and this is my first dslr cam I dare not blow it or clean it myself, do you think Cathay whom I bought it from will show me how to do it?

hmm i think its dust on the focusing screen...

Sound stupid but where is the focusing screen? How can I check or clean it?

Btw will I spoil the Len if I turn the focus ring on the Len while set it at m/AF ? Read manual when half press the shutter button can turn it to change focus but what if I didn't half press?

focusing screen is right above the mirror

it will not be damaged

The camera will auto select the ISO and Aperture in NIGH VISION shoot. The image above uses ISO 6400 and f5.6. Some PP done and this is what you get!...

The D5100 I set to Auto-ISO and min shutter speed 1/60 sec too

ISO at 6400 is quite impressive in this case, maybe it's my skill... ISO above 1600 on my D300s will still be noisy no matter how I try to reduce noise....

seems like cheapest price out there is $985 at TK PHoto. Anyone looking to upgrade? Sell me your D5100...haha

B&S seems like quite a number of people dumpling their D5100...but at super high price though.. so many people upgrading?

I usually buy from Alan Photo or John 3:16 but my wife surprised me with a D5100 Kit + Free gifts as an early Hariraya gift :p

She paid 1050 for Kit + Tripod + Bag + Cleaning Kit + 8GB HCSD card from Best Denki :o

I think price is ok, considering they are selling for 1199 normally :)

How is the auto af of this cam? My canon auto af sucks.

Not as fast as Canon USM but it's accurate :-)

Do not get fooled, the night vision mode of D5100 produces black and white photo.... i try it out yesterday on a colour object using night vision mode, it comes out black and white... :bsmilie:
