I use a KATA strap that has one pocket on each side of the strap where you can store the SD cards but too small for a battery.

Oh I saw that strap. The 2 ends are super long, how do you deal with that?

Yeah, the ends are super l...o..n..g! I threaded it to the camera first to adjust for the optimal length to dangle from my neck and cut off the excess length which I think about 28 cm from each side. Cut diagonally so the end is pointed. To prevent the ends from fraying, run it over the flame of a cigarette lighter quickly so the rubber melts a bit. If the melted rubber is a bit thick, use a finger-nail file or sand paper to smoothen it.

last time i went slr for quoting and tk also. price +/- abit but tk got more freebie ahaha

Haha.. Tts y I bought from tk... But lens wise, slr cheaper.. Gotten a 35mm 1.8 @ 326.. Tk n ms quote at 350..

Was at someone's home and while I had some free time, tried out the D5100's "effects". Just post a few here:

If you take reasonable care of the camera, will anything go wrong or are repairs required within 5 years.

I believe the camera would still be okay.... after 1 year or 2, it would depends on more on your luck

Hi Gents!
i just got my D5100, can you advise the quick one?

can this cam use a 50mm f1.8 D?
I read that this camera mount has no in-built focus, hence can only use a F1.8G

Is that true?

Nice shots of birds! Did you use a heavy zoom lens?

From the EXIF data....
WOW! 700mm!!

Reno, You use telescope ah?

I am using AFS 500mm F4 II, it is a prime lens. I coupled it with a 1.4x Teleconvertor in order to get the 700mm reach. Still trying to get used to the camera body on this heavy lens, it is heavily off balance when i mount it on my tripod. The photos are not so good as the lighting was very harsh on the day.

Found that there is a sweet spot for the D5100..... I find that the images taken at ISO1600 is better than images taken at ISO800.... weird huh....
