I'm contemplating if I should get my 3rd. haha..

Lol. I'm not even trying to compete with you.. We established long back that I will go bankrupt if I tried. :-P

Hi guys, just to check if anyone knows d5100 can work with yn565ex without any problems? I saw someone documenting it on youtube but there were conflicting views..

You may search the tread.. I think there is one case that user have to return the speedlight due to non compatibility.. Safer to use nikon SB though..

Lol, no lah... No competition in this. Just willing buyer, willing user...
Need a 3rd light to make some shots work. But renting now to tide the problems when needed

hmm.. cos i want a flash with ttl, sb is too exp for me...
any alternative to recommend?

Used ones are quite affordable if u dont mind.. Quite a few in the bns.. If it is your first speedlight nikon ones are recomended to avoid disappointments on the ttl functions. I bought the sb700 ib bns.. Really happy with it.. The size compliments the 5100. I am a noob myself so to avoid compatibility issues i got myself one. Hehe.

Btw, i am not poisoning.. I love the hobby but must love my money more.. Haha.. Dont just BBB but must BBBWC (buy buy buy with care) :)

You don't need a filter for shooting people. For landscape, it really depends on what you need. For example, there's CPL, ND and GND

sorry to interrupt, I have a qn about the depth of field preview on D5100. I cant seem to find it(maybe im not looking hard enough) and I have to skirt the problem by switching around with live view to try and see the extent of focus after I change the aperture. Is there an easier way to do it(some cameras apparently have a dedicated button for this)?

bro, i don't think D5100 has a DOF preview from the viewfinder. the only option i know n used is from the live view. but then again, i think we can see it from the viewfinder or was it my imagination......:dunno:

mayb some bros here could enlighten you better...

ONly D7000 have this feature... u r right, set the f-no first then switch to LIVEview and see thru the LCD. The viewfinder cannot preview DOF lah...

Actually all models higher than D5100 have this feature..... cannot say only D7000 has it..

The d5100 doesn't have a dedicated button for this, but you should be able to set it to the fn button.

Nice color and no CA in f1.8 performance :)

28mm 1.8g! Very tempting lens.. It is 42mm on our dx body. But cant they price it like the 35mm? :p expensive hobby to just BBB.
