I think there's more. The $18 discounted price shld have gotten quite a number of buys.

It's $22 or $18 discount? Price is $50 usual and $28 discounted. Was it more ex previously?

go to the webby and look under sale items. they had it selling at $18 a few weeks back. online transaction only. i only missed it by a few minutes as they ran out of stocks...

To be honest... If it's $18 and if I were to know the product previously, I might not be dared to buy it. Hahha, 人就是这么犯贱..... Must wait till ex. enough then dare to buy...

Hi guys,

A pretty noob qn here. Does the iso for the D5100 increases by 1/3 stops or by full stops? Eg. from iso 1600, can increase to iso 2000 or must be 1 full stop from iso 1600 to iso 3200 (both auto iso and manual iso selection)?

Hi, may I know is anyone using 18-105mm lens? Wan to ask is the photo I shot is not as sharp as I using the 18-55mm kit lens.. btw, using same setting on both lens.

ISO increase by 1/3 stop.

try shooting again using a tripod and remote to determine the sharpness. There is a possibility that the cause is due to handshake. When mount on tripod, turn off your VR.

hi bro, am using that lens as well and i find it's sharp. i can also think that it's sharper than my 55-200mm but then again, as bro Reno mentioned, the further u zoom, the more it is sensitive to not only handshake, any shake flavor that you can imagine....hehehe...so, tripod can do wonders and magic to these kind of issues....

think you all got my point wrongly... I was asking kirakun to test if his 18-105mm lens is sharp or not using a tripod. :sweatsm:

For most shoot, you all do not need tripod unless you all shooting sun rise, sun set, night landscape, fireworks.... etc.... ;p

Oops....hahaha...Reno bro compare 18-105 with 55-200....55-200 is sharper, less barrel distortion ...not sure if it's correct ?

Of course there is less barrel distortion on the 55-200, you can tell just by looking at the focal length. Barrel distortions are more prominent in wide angle lenses. Not sure about the sharpness though.

pardon me... what is barrel distortion?? hehehe

Looks something like this

alamak... this one is very common on ultra wide angle lens.... telephoto lens will not have such problem one.... didn't know this is call barrel distortion.
