Yes, it does and the battery drains pretty fast as well. Was on 2 bars, transferred about 300 L-Normal images, left it on but connected for about 30 minutes after transfer and the battery went flat. Whoa!

Hi there,

I would like to ask a noob question. When you connect your D40 to the PC and switch it on, would battery life be depleting as long as the camera is in 'ON' mode?

Not so much as a step-by step-guide, but an Info button that helps you to set your required fields correctly. It also comes with pictures to tell you what settings are used under different environment. If you're looking for image quality, ease of use and not thinking of upgrading anytime soon, you can't go wrong with a D40.
