D40x kit user 1 month ago. anyone try d40x battery grip before?

there are third party ones but that defeats the purpose of the d40 being a compact slr? :P

but with battery grip, can have a better grip. (maybe my hand is too big). plan to buy it soon but still not available in singapore either malaysia.

Its OK, I answered my own question. Did a search on the net and came up with this.

there is another brand of battery grip come with vertical shutter. just found out yesterday. the vertical shutter/battery grip is quite big, not suitable for them who buy d40/x as a backup or compact cam. but for me.. i only have this only 1 dslr. hehe.. so gonna get 1 very soon.

I am tempted to upgrade to D300!

Same same... the value of a new technology would last longer than an older technology.

In this modern technological world, mobile phones, laptops, and any electronic stuff, have a life span of 3-5 years... so... it does make sense to get new technology, but the price would be a big consideration... a whopping $2700!

If it were me I'd get a D200 if the price drops, rather than a D300.

Honestly, I do not see a need for a D300, because I can live with a 2.5'' (Althought the higher res 3" screen would be nice) screen, lower FPS, and less MP (10mp is more than enough for me currently, and D2x fills in the 2mp gap if for any strange reason it is needed).

The 51pt autofocus is somthing I have not looked at in detail though.

Whoa... match this with a 18-200mm and you have a D40 on steroids! ;)
