;p sound fun here... gather all the D40 user..

i got my D40 on 30 june before gst goes to 7% :bsmilie:

planning to get 55-200mm lens n SB-600...

hi hi... I'm a newbie to DSLRs... and just bought my gear on 2 June 07.

D40x + 18-55mm kit lens + 55-200 non-VR + 18-200mm VR + SB-600

It may be a low end DSLR... but it sure packs a lot in it for the price :)

I find this rude and unnecessary...

it was not meant to be rude, and it was quoted from another forumer who used that phrase before (tongue-in-cheek)...my apologies if anyone is offended. :)

Wad's the stats (and price) for 18 - 200mm VR lens?

Our kit lens is 3.5F to 5.6F. 18-200mm VR lens is wad?

I think the 18-200mm VR lens is my ultimate goal...kinda broke now tat I just bought the D40...need to save up more to afford lens...

18-200VR is also F/3.5-5.6.

Me ME!!

I just bought my D40 earlier this week...having fun playing with the shutter speeds in the meantime.

Will post some pics soon

Alan Photo (Funan) quoted me $850 (exclude gst) so I bought from it's next door neighbour (Pixel) at $830 (before gst) which comes with 2GB card.

Last nite, my hubby and I tested out the camera and switched off all lights and just left my computer monitor on and we took a few shots of magazine on the floor. The 30secs shutter gave us a bright image!! We were very surprised! We even tried taking the same shot but WITHOUT the computer monitor light (complete darkness) and used 1min shutter and though image was dark but still visible and able to read the words on the cover of the magazine.

Very fun!! Am thinking of going dragging my hubby along (to help carry tripod :p) to take National day fireworks these coming weekends...

wah....hubby so loving.... :bsmilie:

hmm...don't think you need the 18-55 and 55-200 anymore?

Cheapo me using the cheapass D40 ;p

D2x safely at home to wack people if robber want to come in :bsmilie:
If he get 18-200VR I don't see why he will need the 18-55+55-200

Cheapass or not, as long as I can take reasonably good photos with it, I'm happy.

Cos I am not a Gadgetbator!

btw, it's f/3.5-f/5.6. The number is in the denominator.
