Well, I just bought my D40 and went along to get a Nikon 17-55mm F2.8 and a Sigma 50-150 F2.8. The D40 is my only camera body and I intend to learn the trade with this body till I am ready to upgrade to a more pro body.
Probably more than 2 bodies also. ;pthey have 2 bodies right?![]()

for macro, manual focus is preferred, but if you intend to use it for other stuffs, maybe can try going for the AFS 105VR or Sigma 150mm HSM. :thumbsup:Ha ha hey bro same here, D40 body + 18-55mm (Kit) + Sigma 50-150 F2.8 + Another MACRO Len (model yet to decide).
Advise needed from C'ster for Marco shooting, is AF-S/HSM neccessary???![]()
Otherwise, thinking of getting the Sigma 105mmF2.8 EX DG marco.
Thanks in advance.
D40 got v-grip? 3rd party?
Why not??
you just lose the auto-focus... you still can shoot with the 50mm's
Thinking of buying additional lens for my D40.
Have set my mind on AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED when it hit the stores. And also looking for a Fisheye lens. Any reccommendations? Or alternatives to achieve the fisheye effects?
10.5mm fisheye lah.. 16mm doesn't give 180 deg coverage along the diagonals on a DX sensor.Fisheye?
16mm
But as this is a AF lens and not AF-S, you'd need to manually focus with it when using on a D40.
