D4 when and how much?

With the additional XQD card, battery
and WT-5.....will be more than 10k

Well is willing buyer willing seller

Yeah. I meant it as a matter-of-fact.

This is an ideal situation for a monopolist to reap maximum producer surplus.

At this price point, it's time to invoke the "it's the photographer, not the equipment that matters" argument, as some who would say that they shoot better photographs with their phones than some of those rich kids with their D4 like her:

Kang Yoo Lee Nikon Digital Live 2012
oh..
i thought i saw Stef Sun Yan Zi.
Cant help to think...some who say those are probably just sour grapes. ;)

Saw a dude picking up and unboxing his D4 just now at CP...drooling

Gotta wonder why the D4 costs so much more than the D3s... An almost S$10,000 price tag is a real challenge to sell, in my opinion.

I can understand why certain professional photographers will just go for the D4 anyway, regardless of the price.

But this also increases the attractiveness for photographers to retain their current D3s, no?

As of this point, the one that benefits the most are nature photographers taking wildlife. The F/8 sensitive AF points seems to trumps e rest of the independent capabilities the most. Wireless transmission for tethering is not fully functional, as reported by Adam from froknowsphoto.

Quick question to anyone here who actually has a local D4..

I was told by Nikon Singapore $9600-$9800 for the D4 not including taxes..
I was just told by CP that it's $9100 including taxes.

So what's the price then? Assuming one's available?

9.1K is a gd price, if gst is in. My quote is a lil higher w gst in.

IMHO, S$9.1K is still quite ridiculous considering the SRP in US is only USD6K or S$7.6K. Why the discrimination?

Things in Singapore are never cheap. lol.

buy from Amazon US.. pay the freight... i think it'll still be cheaper...

don't forget the GST and the fact that you did not see the camera body and also NO local warranty for a camera body purchased from outside of Singapore
:)

Stop ranting, forget the D4... go for the new #1 - the D800!

Cause Nikon SG loves you ;)

Wowed by the rumored prices for D4 and D800. Just curious why they are so much cheaper than D3X which retailed at $12k when it was launched?
