wah! is that your setup?? cool man!!

Hey D300s users, I have a question for you guys... Can you change the aperture when shooting video? I.E.: Set to F22 to get as much DOF as possible, thus don't have to worry about things being out of focus.

Try setting the aperture first then get into Liveview. That's how it works in D90, see if it's the same.

yap.. the same.. change aperture have to ON and OFF video/LV to achieve the desired DOF.

No. Only the body itself with the standard accessories.

Sigh:dunno:, Nikon are so not friendly to new potential customer...

so, in another word full price for those lens?

i was just checking the mirror in the body and i found patches believe to be grease??!!?? i've sinced wipe it.. hmmm.. how did that happen in the first place..

I realized that the D300s have no D2X/D2XS colour modes as was provided in a firmware for the original D300.

Use Portrait or Landscape to get close to D2XModeI and D2XModeIII respectively. Anyway, the D2X Modes are not default in D300. You'll need to download them.

Any one using MAC? can D300s's RAW be process by Iphoto?

I don't think so, my mbp can't detect D300s when connected to mbp USB port. I think I will try again tmr.

Thanks for the information. I didn't see any Portrait or Landscape modes for the D300s (there shouldn't be any right?).

after about 2.5k of shutter count, i've settled on the below settings under normal conditions..

vivid mode
D-lightling OFF
sharpeness 9
brightness 0
saturation +1
Hue +1

was wondering what you guys are setting??

Portrait picture control, D-Lighting off, everything else default.

i believe lsisaxon is talking about this:

Landscape Mode

Portrait Mode

I do not see any support YET for D2X Mode on D300S.

I didn't know it's optional. These 2 modes is already predefined in D90, so I thought the D300s would come with these modes as well.

Can the D2X modes for D300 be used with D300s?

I thought put your HCSD into the card slot of MacBook Pro should be everything auto?

I did that with my Nikon D60 photos, no problem... wondering D300s can or not...
