D300s User Thread

After using it, I think it's not the perfect solution. But still better than the stock one.
All D700/D3 series & film SLRs with such viewfinders are the best ones around.

(Nikon: if you read this, please design viewfinders what consumers really love) :sweatsm:

oh, i did tell the seller to contact me again when he has stock that doesn't "vignette" at the sides... so far, 1 day past...no sound no picture...still waiting..

Why not try to order again, I think he still have some stock in hand by now.
Mine is good. Don't have that problem.

Hi,

I'm new user of D300s, I like the AF as it always have to wait for me to press down the shutter.;p

May I know whether there is other way to shut down the top lcd other than take out the battery?

Thanks:sweat:

That's great that you chose D300s over the D7000 !!

I believe that the D300s would not dissapoint you.

And the most important, the reliability & quality of D300s has been proven over the time ...

Why do you want to shut down the top LCD by force ?

I think it would turns off by itself after few seconds of no activity with the camera ?

Oooo ok I scare it take out the power when not in use. Wat a relief to hear this.

Will play with it more often as I just receive a 70200 & 105 from friend to ask me to help to take care the len when he posted oversea.:p

I dont if this question have been asked before, but I was thinking between the 28-300 or 24-120 f4 lens for my d300s..
any d300s user have these lens?
thanks

new user reporting in :D upgraded from my d5000 :)

Hi mate. Care to share how yur new cam is from yur d5000. I'm planning to make de same switch. Cheers...

IQ wise, they r both pretty similar. but wad im in love with d300s now, is tat there r more features + alot more shortcut buttons n switches compared to d5000. the AF speed is also faster compared to my d5000. it's alot easier to change settings (especially stuff like metering, iso, af mode, wb n shutter release) now compared to using d5000 (which requires alot of scrolling within the menus to change the settings).

feels more stable in my hands also, since d5000 feels kinda cramped for my hands. well, they r cameras on totally different levels (d5000 = entry level, d300s = semi pro), and it is no wonder tat the d300s will feel better (altho the turn-off to some ppl is the weight of the d300s, it's alot heavier compared to d5000).
