Iam only going 1000 click with this baby.. suddenly this "ERR" appears 3 times..

refer to page 381 manual.

it reads problem: camera malfunction.

solution: release shutter. if problem persist or appears frequently, contact Nikon-authorised service representative.

Check your memory card also.

I read somewhere that the ERR msg is due to the mirror hang. It can occur on other models too. If it happens again, you should bring it into NSC for a look.

My guess that each of our cameras are tested for the shutters. I think this is rather normal?

I would think this is a standard QC test before they are released for sales, and it is also known as "run in", or "burn in".
