D300s is out......!!!

the way i see it, D300s is not a segment that Nikon is competing with Canon.

Most of Nikon users are loyalist. theD300, D700 are targeted more at this group. This group of user already have some investment on Nikon glass, so they wouldn't jump ship to Canon so easily.

Whereas the D5000, D3000 and up to D90 are more targeted at new Nikon owners or beginners.

this is the segment that Nikon are fighting with Canon. Just my 2 cents.

Nikon Singapore may have enough stock for the first few months but Nikon Singapore will not transmit most of their D300s to the local shops.

So I don’t think the Local Shops will have many stocks and some of the local shops will not bring in for sale due to cleaning off the old D300 stocks.

Yeah think your right. But quite a lot of shops have cleared their shelves off of D300s right now. Im just hoping the D300s will come in at around 2400 + -, cuz thats all i have saved for it. Anymore and ima have to wait a few more months :cry:

If D700 compared with 5DMK2, the 5DMK2 will cost more!

But I mean the Full Frame Lens we invest on, like the common type of Lens 24-70mm f2.8 etc...

Cost more? cost we are paying for quality. My 24 yr old F3 is still working perfectly. i can't say for the C**** A-1 that i used to have.

The price in AUSTRALIA will be AUD $2595... so with Exchange rates you will / should see it Around SGD $2800 - $2900......

HOWEVER !!! Nikon CAMERA bodies are Cheaper in Singapore than Australia...... so I think you will see it at SGD $2600 - 2650...

ENJOY!! BUT - Wait Three - Five months and they will drop it By $200 - $250 Because Canon will be releasing a replacement for the EOS D50 ( with lower MP - with better D/R and ISO performance ).

If you want high quality video, buy a HD cam-corder. AFAIC, video in a D300 & above level cams are gimmicky.

I don't really care what C**** is doing, be it their excessive MP or video. and i'm sure glad Nikon didn't screw their users over, by dumping the F-mount. I can still use my old 35-70 f2.8 on my D700. Perfect!

Damn, im so undecided here. I just cant wait for at least 1 review to show up on google. Every other D300s search is either just pictures and words directly copied from nikons press release or are just hands on. I really need some concrete reviews. Sigh, hope its not too expensive too :cry:
