Tested with 8GB Ultra 2....very good! No lag...;p
Interested in ur MC 35 GPS leh....still have?? :P

Was thinking of going up to a 12GB or 16GB card. I know people say don't put everything onto one card, but the convenience factor is there. Also, I download all my pictures at day end whenever I go shooting.

The GPS 'kit' is still for sale. However, the nice thing about the D3/D300 now is that there is GPS direction too; and my di-GPS N2 that I am using now does not have this. hmmmm....to sell or not to sell my Garmin?????

Sandisk Extreme III 16GB!!! under 390dollars at CP marina. Over kill for me, if I use that card, I can shoot 2-3 events at RAW +Large Fine Jpeg no problem.

yes its true.

my d3 with 2 cf cards 'hang' on me last sat when i was fun shooting my friend's wedding.
in the end, i had to format the card and hence losing a few pics(lucky!) before i could continue shooting.

i was using SD extreme III 4GB cards.

i shooting overflow mode.in raw.which means when it finish card 1, it will go to card 2.

somehow, it just refuses to fire.
i wonder why.
that's the reason why i will nvr put all eggs in one basket.
i rather have a few 4GB cards, and i bring my laptop to transfer the pics if i run out of space.

4GB hahahha thats gonna be like every couple hundred photos u change one card

How did you manage to shoot with SD cards? It is not supported by D3 rite?

on D3, IIRC, one 4GB card can take about 177 pics.each pic is about 25mb.(raw)

wah siao ahahahahha
how many cards u have?
at least u can put 2 cards.. the D300 is only 1 card.. hence every 270 *max in compressed RAW* i need to change
so i dunno if i should get 1 more 4GB or the 8GB :o

if i one day i am desperate for CF cards i know who to look for

those looking to order the da protector for your d300 - u can order a custom cut version. mine just arrived and i've fixed it on the LCD screeen, ready for Saturday's outing. ;p

the dimensions are 54mm x 68mm. AFAIK, they dun have a ready-made D300 protector for orders yet. the price is the same, the only difference between the custom-cut version and the ready-made is dat the custom-cut does not have the black slik-screen border. so, it will not hide the double-sided tape which u use to secure the protector on the LCD screen. :)

question:

i understand that Nikon D300 is weather proof to a certain degree
which LENS is actually weather proof? :D

The Nikkor series. Can take light drizzle.

nikkor series means... all nikon lenses?

Most lens from Nikon are ok with light drizzles... I do still shoot in light drizzles, only when it starts to get heavy will I pack it all up...

With the D300 and a 4GB card, I'm shooting appro. 330 shoots of compressed RAW. The meter is not as accurate, just like the D200.
