thanks dude... I just downloaded it into the cam and through the grid, the protrait is a sub-branch of the standard. As such, am I right to say that the protrait is actually the same as the standard, therefore can delete off cos it's redundant?
D80's AWB not terrible la.
WB is also subjective. non one cam is capable of all lighting conditions.
if you understand the WB behaviour of cam, you can know when when you need to manually set the Kelvin.
my experience w D300 shows its auto white balance can turn up quite extreme between the neutral and standard setting when shot in dim conditions.
very bluish in neutral and too redish in standard.
neither is accurate anyway.
it is accurate in bright conditions. then again which DSLR isn't?
most important, understand the behaviour of the cam and compensate as and when needed. that sets apart the pro and the amateur. Pro means proficient not professional.
Had just a few runs of it on NX2 and switching between the few pics, it seemed that the new "Portrait" picture control is much 'closer' to the Neutral picture control instead of the Standard picture control. In any case, the difference seems subtile.
