Question for the MB-D10 users: I'm wondering, it is ok to use the 8 AAs with the EN-EL3e still in the camera body... the manual doesn't say that it can't or shouldn't be done. (Or I've missed it.)

I recently came back from a 7 day trip to Japan with the D300 and MB-D10 loaded with 8x AA rechargeable cells. Managed over 2000 shots on those batteries alone, mostly with VR lens.

Don't mind telling us what was the brand of batteries you used?
