Our coe can pay for 2 to 3 brand new car in some other countries.

If I'm transport minister. .... I start by screwing... I mean screening those people who hv licences and are hopeless.... that should reduce driver population by 30%.

2 to 3 brand new cars? erm... some countries like USA, a Nissan Versa only cost 12k USD . in China a Suzuki Swift only cost 12k SGD... I think it is more than 5 to 8 brand new cars.

The COE price can almost buy you a brand new Porsche 911 in USA.

or we should just make sure cabbies start driving safely.

i signalled left and tried to make a turn into a gas station when i checked my mirrors and realized that a taxi was just a couple of metres behind me.

from the last i checked till before i started to turn into the gas station, he had accelerated so fast.

and the cabby had the nerve to honk and flash his high beam at me.

i might not have footage of that road rage incident, but i had an action cam mounted on my helmet showing just how fast he shot past me after turning in.

so Motorcyclist... go get yourself something similar.

I did not state which type of car.... I saw WRX pricing in US... and it was like US $25k... so I was thinking in term of WRX...

I agree with you.. depending on country.... 5-8 brand new cars are possible... and... no 10yrs lease life n a toilet of paper call COE!!!!

I think that cabby driving those powerful Hyundai Sonata are a menace too.... they really can fly, good pick up... and have seen a few accident involving theses taxi too.... I do not disagree with you, but just a few havoc taxi drivers are enough to give taxi drivers a bad name...

i drive by using the Force to sense other road users. If a rude cyclist approaches, I will either force-choke him/her or gently steer his/her bike into the nearest soft, gentle bush. grrrrr.

Be careful with your sensing, some road users may not be human.

But the main thing to remember when on the road is not "I'm a skillful driver with years of experience", but to remember that you need to watch out for the safety of others as well, in addition to being curteous to other road users

Actualy, there is one other place in the world with COE, city of Shanghai. They copied our system. and now their COE is around 50+k RMB.

Actually.... not all taxi drivers are bad..... but those few bad one will give them a bad name for the driver because we can identify them as "Taxi" drivers....

In other cases, different driver driving different car, and so, very hard to generalize them.....

Actualy, there is one other place in the world with COE, city of Shanghai. They copied our system. and now their COE is around 50+k RMB.

FYI i find that Singaporeans in general are lousy drivers who think that by playing racing simulators and games, they are able to overtake and drive as well as professional drivers/racers.

the same with FPS players thinking that they are as good as a real-life army sniper.

it's really naive and laughable.
