Freedom of speech is welcome as long as you do not condescend on others due to race, language, religion, skin color, ability (or disability). What you are doing is not "freedom of speech", especially when you insinuated that a person of a difference race somehow made the situation worse.
And you ought to look up on the legal definition of "freedom of speech".

Yesterday my friend almost got hit from back when we waiting at the pedestrian crossing due to the cyclist never dismount and zoom pass the zebra crossing. My friend moves back some more, sure got hit. Singapore should allow certain areas can be cycle else more and more accidents happening every where!
time to take some herbal tea and cool down, else next two weeks we will have a very quiet Kopitiam.

i also almost got hit a few times when crossing the road by motorist coz they don't bother to look out for pedestrian. some even dont bother to stop or go slower at zebra crossing.

What to do? Even fine of $20 (which hardly take place), don't stop them from doing that. Drink and drive will get it but not cyclist which didn't obey the rules. Even got PCN, they still do their own style and caused us trouble. I just let them ring, they shouted at me, I stop them and call police. See who are in the rights.

Do be careful when crowing zebra crossing. More so when the traffic is light. As a motorist, we sometime may miss a person crossing suddenly when you are deep in thought. No excuse but for your own safety, do wait to ensure the car see you and slowing down before crossing.
When there are traffic light, the chances are the motorist will see them. But don't rush to cross as you know our traffic light turn from amber to red is split second. Not all traffic light have the same timing and motorist just need to guess what next.
What we are all in such a hurry? I also don't know. I have to keep reminding myself, take it easy, slow down. But, we are tuned to slot In the name of productivity and also multitask. Drive but think about work. Haha

bbtm, i am talking about motorist, not cyclist. there are more offender motorists out there compare to cyclists. i travel to work by buses, so i always got to see all kinds of stunts perform by motorists. next time i go buy a helmet mount camera while boarding the bus.

Ok, see wrong. Btw, just make sure they stopped before you moves off some time. I always do that, don't take it as they sees you as they do have blind spot or they day (night) dreaming, haha!
There are good and bad motorists out there. And there are good and bad cyclists out there. But cyclists should always remember that they are way more vulnerable, if they do not ride defensively, they put their own lives at stake. Worse so if they ride recklessly.
Sometimes I do not see a need for all the rise in emotions when a biker gets hit. People need to cool it first and see what the investigation comes up with... many times, the bikers are at fault too.

I recall once when driving past Great World, a Caucasian was crossing the road and even when he sees my car coming at a speed, he continue to walk and din bother to avoid me. When I sounded my horn, he pointed finger at me instead of trying to avoid. Like the road belongs to him. Really pissed off.
I feel locals know the culture and respect the system and would know how to react. But foreigners might be lacking in this aspect. On the other hand, when we travel, locals will say the aw thing about us, dunno how to behave.

Who is so free to report? What is wrong with calling an orange, an orange? If I call asian woman who only likes Caucasian men a SPG. Yes, it may be derogatory.
But if Wikipedia can be used as a reference, definition of GL includes:
"Many Cantonese speakers frequently use the term "gweilo" to refer to caucasian in general and consider the term non-derogatory, which some members of the foreign community resent"

Which is worse? The poster whose comments target a specific piece of video or the one who tried to influenced the public into thinking it is general comment targeting a specific race? The latter is just as guilty and I hope the moderator has been fair to also issue an infraction to that person. In any case, we do have some dung stirrer in this forum.

just because you don't think it is, doesn't mean that it's not. and btw, the meaning of gwai-lo is to mean Devil. calling someone a devil is a negative term, is it not?

Certain cultures do not have a respect for laws or authority. This cyclist seems to exemplify all that's wrong with his culture in this aspect.
Some cultures do not have a culture of road safety. For example, in Vietnam, the roads are very chaotic. In the subcontinental Asia, it may be acceptable to load livestock onto public transport.
For foreign residents in Singapore they must accept and respect that they are in a different land and respect the rule of law and the common customs, in order to have a harmonic living with the citizens.
I would consider it really bad manners on my part if you were to invite me to your house and I insult your decorations, insult your refreshments and facilities, dirty your floor, spit on your carpet, soil your sofa, spill my drink by having poor risk management eg dancing wildly with my glass in hand when clearly it is not in order with the culture of your home.
Sure there are plenty of great guests and enjoyable company, but occasionally some reminders are due for those with short memory.
