BTW, why are you considering the H1 if image and semi pro features are not so important? A smaller and more compact 5MP DSC-W5 will do the job just as well. Save $$$ too.

Ya, i dun really like it when shops quote the price without GST. So you gotta add in 5% to the price.

I would seriously consider taking the freebies (saves me the hassle of getting them individually, and chances are they are cheaper in a bundle). You will probably need most of the freebies. Even with super stabiliser, you might want to consider owning a tripod for the H1. I'm happy with the results with the H1's super stabiliser, but even then it cannot perform miracles. I would also want a casing so not to scratch my new camera The camera will come with a usb cable to directly connect the camera to a PC for transfers but a multicard reader will make transfers more convenient.

With regards to the second package, you might want to check if whether the "free" rechargable batteries are in fact "gifts". The camera itself comes with two sony rechargables, so if they are, you should receive four in total.

Both packages seem very reasonable.

the features not impt cuz im not totally sucked into it?? haha.. i tot i'd juz like a camera with good functions to play n learn for a long time. guess it doesnt hurt to have a good feature camera to last a long time. i like the quality i see from H1 users & the use of only 2 AA batts n big LCD screen.. tat x12 zoom manz. shiok. :bsmilie: initially i even thought of getting D50 but eventually i figured tat too much of a jump in level for me. Ok. Most of the pics you saw at the other thread are from the W series. The more zoom you use, the more the need for a tripod to stable your cam. Maybe you got good kungfu, than no need. :sweatsm:

The 512MB is the most important. Followed by a case. Extra batts are cheap. Maybe $18 for 4 Sanyo 2500. You will see MOs being done here for them. Tripod nomally cost approx $40 for a decent one that can handle your cam's weight. Cleaning kit approx $10. Card reader can cost from $10-30. Screan protector bout $15. A case can varies greatly. If you vain, can go for branded ones that cost few hundreds. If not than maybe $30 can get your a resonable one.

So for your taiwan trip, the 512 card and case is the most important. With these, cannot take pics. :bsmilie: Unless you wanna bash your H1 around. BTW, normal alkaline AA batts will die very fast on a digicam. Not enough juice. Approx 70 shots and they're dead.

If thats the case, then go for the one with more freebies lor. Free tripod, case, cleaning kit and card reader sounds good. Extra batts are cheap la as i post a link above.

I never heard of collection at Mac? Collect wat? Hamburger? :bsmilie: You will need your warranty card and proof of purchase to redeem your MS.

After buying your cam, you can post questions here or at newbie's forum. Sure got ppl help you.

i personally prefer 2 shop for

1) tripod
2) cleaning kit

on my own. i cant live w/ a tripod i dun 1 2 use cos 2 heavy lah, not sturdy lah, like can topple anytime lah, etc. dunno d cleaning can do da job anot, mayb clean & clean still not clean de...:bsmilie:

tis 2 thingy can b bought easily so i not bother ah. dun giv i go buy my 4 myself lor.
