hi guyz , mostly i will get myself a H1 but before tht i wish to know any wide kits for H1 or it can be set ? hmm.......

if i m not wroung u can buy a wide angle adaptor.

if i not wrong again, it costs above $200... :sweat:

The Sony H1 0.7x wide angle adaptor is VCL-DH0758. May I refer you to the H1 Whitepaper to find out more on the Sony's wide angle adaptor.

The retail price for the wide angle adaptor is $250 at all Sony galleries and it comes with the lens (with caps) and one leather pouch to hold it. I managed to get my with the H1 for $980 during the promotion last year at Sony Gallery, didn't bother to find out where else sells it (wide angle adaptor). The Americans can get it online for about 100+USD (but they don't do international shipping) so I guess if you search real hard in SG you maybe able to find it around $180 locally.

PS. If you manage to find it let us know, I'm looking for telephoto lens and don't feel like paying over $200 for it.

i using Canon... :sweat: ttz d thing i dun like abt prosumer aft i found out d cost of such accessories. jus a wider angle hav 2 pay so much more.

i oni kno Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) , Stanley Lim Color Centre (SLCC), & Objectifs.

as i former student of Objectifs (basic photography course), i give it a :thumbsd: . aft i learn there den kno got other places.

try posting at Newbies Corner, u'll get more replies (& more opinions :think: ?). another way is 2 shoot more den post Qs in CS can liao- save $$, learn at own pace & enjoy d learning process. :thumbsup:

I don't know about it in the shop but I bump into this website recently that sells it for about $684 on ebay singapore. I doubt it will come with any freebies though.

Get out with your camera and experiment with it. Have fun and don't worry about making mistakes as it's free! Not sure about what shutter speed do, just tweak the settings and shoot shoot shoot... I think that's the beauty of digital camera is that I learnt a lot myself after getting the H1.

Oh, and there's a H1 whitepaper to get you started with. Its a valuable piece that applies to all digicam.

thx ya .....i like H1 very much since i saw it last time on the net.

Firstly, I guess your camcorder lens will be a bit too small for the camera.. even if you manage to step down to fit it, your photos will look horrible with all the vignetting. It will look as if you took the photo through a small opening.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure $250 is the max for the each lens, I saw them in Sony Gallery in Orchard, IMM and Sony Square at Clementi.. $599 even if for both its too much unless you throw in the close up lens. But $599 on additional lens that's almost another H1 by itself :sweat: :sweat:

Thirdly, that's all the lens Sony have for the H1, telephoto, wide angle and close up.

H1 comes with 58mm thread so you can technically buy any 58mm add-on lens for it. Even if it comes from Canon, Olympus etc. But Sony engineered the lens with coating to fit the H1 so your best bet is to stick with Sony's lens. If you get any other lens that have say 55mm thread, you will need a step-up/down adaptor and that will increase your chances of vignetting again with dark corners.

599 can get both already ? i think i will get wide lens only as wide lens will be use oftenly. 1.7x ...not much chances to use as 432mm is quite powerful zoom already. unless there is any promotion la ...thn may get both of them.Hmm....can get a H1 ? ...if its necessary to buy it. I will...;p

You can do a search in ebay and you can find many 2x and 3x conversion lens available at very low prices in the US. That will give you an idea what other brands are available. But I'm not professional enough to comment if those lens are good or not.

That's exactly what I thought when I bought the wide angle lens with my H1. But after I started to point it to the moon, I was hoping that I bought a telephoto lens instead. Though I must say the wide angle was very useful for family occasions.

you can try mscolour @ amk. They have one of the best prices around on digicam. I bought mine @ $695 while at the that same time, sony gallery is selling at $799.

I have enquired about the org sony wide angle lens @ mscolour before. If i remember correctly, they quoted me $215 (based on I bought the H1 from them).

I am also comtemplating on getting the wide angle lens. Same thought as well, the wide angle will probably be more useful. Of course the telephoto is a tempting option where pointing at the moon is concerned but how offen do we point at the moon?? :think:
