Just bought one set for the office use. $870 +GST. Sim Lim Square.
Did anyone of you buy any filter for the ring attachement as protection the len?

Somehow missed this post....

Filter is a must, but before you invest into filter, make sure you plan first.

A 72mm filter in many occassions are about 100% more expensive than a 62mm filter.

Moreover, if you think you are going to play with Macro, Wide angle, tele...72mm is going to give you a lot of challenges and thought.

Get a 3rd party adapter where you can mount 62mm, 58mm or 55mm filter....that will certainly help you to save more $$ for more fun.

I've got e-quotation from MS Color as S$868+5%= S$911.50, free case, 256mbc ard, cleaning kit with lcd protector.
Is that a good price?

Is the case refering to Panasonic original case for FZ? If yes, I think you can cehck with them if it is possible exchange it and the cleaning kits for filters or something else. The case is pretty useless once you put the adaptor on. For cleaning kit, I suggest you can the clean pen and blower seperately.

I'm a potential FZ20 buyer... used to own a Sony 707... got the same e-quote from MS as well. Anyone knows the price from Alan Photo?

if im not wrong I still have a 58mm CP and UV filter for the 707.. so what do I need to be able to fit the 2 filters to the FZ20? I read about the Phayee Adaptor, but tha's to 62mm only right? What else should I get from MS Colour or Alan Photo?

Buy a step downring from 62mm - 58mm. there, you can use ur UV filter. :sweat:

Yes you have to. Another way is to get step down ring 72mm to 62mm plus the 62mm to 58mm.

Guys, just called MS, for upgrading the memory card to 512 = +$30, 72 mm UV filter = $10 and tele conversion (original but no stock, by order only) = $450

You might want to consider getting a good bag at the same time. Your free bag won't fit your cam if you're intending to mount the adapter and UV filter. There are threads on the most suitable bags in this forum.

Forget about the original teleconvertor. You can get Oly Tcon 1.7 for $150 but you need to get a step dwon ring from 62mm to 55mm.
