Curious.. Dynax 7D vs A200

i think the difference is hardly noticeable to be honest.
the main point for consideration will be the price.
7D has much better handling and control (and looks more professional too LOL) but more expensive.
the 5D will produce similar quality pictures and is cheaper, but its not as nice to use.

Yes. Its the price that makes me hesitate cause i'll take a longer time. 7D looks more rugged too
7D is a semi pro model. The Sony A700 is based on the 7D, but it loses the 2nd dial (which is a pity, that 2nd dial is very useful).
5D is an entry level camera. It feels exactly like using a Sony A200.
Some reviews says that the A100 is based on the 5D, but its entirely incorrectly IMO. Those reviews probably was written before the A200 came out.
The A100 actually has (a little) better handling than the 5D and A200. I like the fact that the A100's 2nd dial is actually useful. The 5D's 2nd dial is only for white balance control...
Handling wise 7D > A700 > A100 > 5D > A200
My personal opinion.
Nevertheless, the 5D will still give just as good IQ as the 7D. For its cheap price, it serves as a good backup camera

I've just bought my first DSLR as a replacement for my Fuji S9600.
I was considering an Alpha A230, but ended up buying a 2nd hand 7D on impulse without knowing anything about it.
A SAL-50F18 and a SAL-1855 later and I'm very very glad I did. Still very much learning how to us it over the Fuji bridge, but when I get it right, it really shines.
