OH CONVENIENTLY FORGOT TO MENTION.....Its not all Eat, Sleep and Shoot for the trip leh! :bsmilie:

Item 1
In the evenings, normally after dinner, projectors and laptops will be set up in seminar room for photo sharing sessions and I expect all in our group to participate.

And its not just putting up image(s) and waiting for people to clap hands ha ha ha...... you're expected to talk about your image(s) and maybe what you went through that day.

If you want to share your experiences, techniques, views and attitudes on photography related issues during these sessions .... let me know

Item 2
Tradition through the years is for each team to bring some gifts for gift-exchange amongst all participants. I will handle the purchase of our gifts to the other teams BUT need some suggestions on what this should be...... we gave out Cambodian scarves last year, little notebooks another year, LCD reading lights on another year etc etc One year EASTGEAR kindly donated batteries and mini LED torches..... so give me suggestions..... something small and portable within a reasonable budget of $5 or less per gift. No need to come up any $$$.... its been budgeted for already....

And if you know of companies willing to donate freebies, that would be welcome too.

ha ha yes 'bait and switch' at its best ! Except that these sharing activities benefit ALL.....the past participants know this is an inherent part of the trip :)

Arghhhhh~~~

Missed this. :(

How come same old people are going again? haa haa Is this sort of like the Tangshooter where you need to be "approved" before you can join?

Hopefully, can make it next year.

Hope to see you onboard next year !!

Not all are 'same old people going again' ha ha :)

If you look at the list, 4 are first timers while 6 are past participants...... 100% repeat participants is not good .... 100% newcomers also not good..... best is a mix of old hands and new participants so that the overall ice-breaking experience is better.

I believe the same 'new+old' policy is practiced in the other teams as well

The new participants are important as they join in the growing cross-border network of relationships.

The repeat participants (from different years over the last 5 years) are also important as they act as 'bridges' between the past, recent and present editions .

There is no 'approval' process (sorry not familiar with Tangshooters policies) ...... past participants have ranged from photographers who shoot for a living or are semi-pro to just regular guys/gals with regular jobs who are in photography as hobbyists and with a passion for shooting and meeting fellow photographers from around the region. Preferences are given to folks who are more active within the forums

AND sometimes its just plain ol' fate depending on each person's schedules, location preferences and other factors beyond any organizer's control .....

:) hope that clarifies........ dont want people thinking that participation is a 'kelong' process kekekeke !! :)

There is no 'approval' process (sorry not familiar with Tangshooters policies) ...... past participants have ranged from photographers who shoot for a living or are near-pro to just regular guys/gals armed with simple cameras with a passion for shooting. Preferences are given to folks who are more active within the forums

Thanks for taking the time to list out the details to a peasant like me.. Very transparent. I like it.. Or the Tungtong way... I :heart: it.. Hoo Whooo!!

CB come a long way and provide a "cheap" way to see unchartered water where you don't get to on your own.

Eagerly waiting for pictures to be posted. :)

Ed.. sorry to "hijack" the thread for a clarification - TangShooters welcome everyone to their outings, however due to some outings where there are space restrictions, then the outing is only open to regular TSers, to be a regular TSer, all you need to do is be an active member. thus the myth of need "to be approved before you can join" is definitely not true. just pop by TS TCSS thread and look out for any outings.

Want to try out the EP-1 to consider buying it

Hi Woofmy,
Hope you don't take it the wrong way. I can fuly understand the need to be selective on the member of the outing. I have no problem with that. Just stating an observation.

my dear young lady..... and young already using walking stick ??? was it carrying my 70-200 IS during CB5 that caused it ?? :)

Oh no no...not caused by the canggih 70-200 IS, I'm not young anymore.

I think this time climbing would be tougher, considering the canyon and valleys :sweat:. Should I bring along the walking stick? :sweatsm:

The nice photos I took using your canggih lens are still with Beyond, hopefully can get from him this coming KLPF.
