I believe the screen alone is justifying to pay that extra amt of money.

hehehe.. very good of you to do the test.
dunno which one to buy, vp8360 or vp8390. difference is only $100.

Hey Sim Lim ony charge $600 for 120GB vp8360. $99 cheaper then EG.

Depends on what you want. The best is to have both side by side to compare.

i still dunno if it is worth the extra, but after comparing both side by side, all i can say abt vp8390 are the pictures looks crystal clear & more contrasty (due to increase setting?). but do i need these just to satisfy my eyes? i will just decide on coming sitex.

btw lightning, how was the transfer test fared?

The day before EG says no stock and would call me if they come. Now thing is 30 sets on the way. hhhmmm:think:

We are not talking about comparing photoviewing on a big screen vs small screen. Given the same small screen, it's obviously better to have one with better quality.

Annyway, the reason why there are low end and high end products are that they are designed for people with different budgets and requirements. If the epson p3000 is really going for US$499 or less, it's definitely gonna be my preferred choice.

I just ordered one from bhphoto, arriving on Monday. Will tell you my thoughts. I used to own a P2000 and find that it's screens is simply the best out there. now this P3000 uses a new screen which can display aRGB which is simply amazing.

I am going to use it to share photos with my friends. At 4" with VGA resolution, it is pretty ok to view a picture. Just put a little be closer lor :)

Pl give us a field report on the P3000 :D

Okay I have tested with 3GB, it took 12 min to transfer with Normal Speed. So my guard feel of 10min for 6GB is not correct. :)

thanks for the info. :)

Thanks to Lightning , my 8390 is up and running.

For the price I paid ( I believe in getting what you paid for ) the functions are cool but the LCD pic is not as clear and vivid as Jobo's Giga Vue or even the much touted P5000.

at least better than 8360 right? ;p

Yes. 8390 gives warmer tones esp for human skin

Well I cannot expect more from a $600 device that is 120GB with video recording, CF/SD backup, photo viewing, mp3 playing, FM tuner. Indeed the OLED has a better image quality :) but I cannot justify paying another $199 on top of $600 for 80GB storage.
