true...but if you take away the radio which as a zen user put is not even as good as a dedicated portable radio (and you know how some of those sound) and 8-9 hour battery life (vs the advertised 12 hours), then what functional advantage does it have over the ipod? the touch pad or whatever thats called loses out the ipod scroll wheel big time in terms of scrolling accuracy and ease of use.
granted that ipod doesnt play wma files which is a microsoft proprietary format and not even a standard, the zen does not even play aac (mpeg4) which is an mpeg standard.
the ipod has a docking port that offers a wider range of expansion - 3rd party sound systems (bmw, mercs, nissan, alfa romeo, jbl, bose, etc) and accessories (in-car chargers, connection to card readers and digital cameras, fm transmitters, voice recorders). the zen is probably restricted to fm transmitters and cassette adapters that plug into its headphone socket.
seems to me ipod is more functional then the zen.
