no lah, actually it is a male thing

"mine is bigger than yours" syndrome

Whenever I do my thing at the urinal, I take a peek at chap standing next to me for comparison - sort of SOP. Well, this is call the Phallic Symbol. In an event, I will also look around to see if anyone got a bigger, longer lens than mine.  :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Not bigger aperture than your small aperture?

Why are you laughing? Did I say something wrong? :dunno:

No, just a very funny comment, lighten up! Stop thinking your doing something wrong all the time.

Ok ok.. I just trying hard not to do wrong things :embrass:

Small aperture = greater DOF = sharper pix

BTW, my aperture getting bigger and bigger - one day, I will arrive at F1.4  :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Wow.. small aperture = greater dof = sharper pix... Then why don't they make all glasses f/22? or f/64? or f/128?

Thought you are smalllaperture, how come become bigaperture now? Need to change nick?

Because were not always standing on the surface of the sun?

How to stand on surface of sun? Possible meh? Thought would burn up? :dunno:

Does it also mean that Big aperture (i.e. small f number) = Shallow DOF = blurer pic?
I think this sentance is subjective. Big aperture = shallow DOF, true, but it's only the background is thrown OOF. If your subject is in focus, the subject would be sharp.
I hope you'll get your f/1.4 soon (be it the 50mm or 85mm). Damn  piece of glass!

Need some explanation here la. I love everything big, like big house, big car, big lens, big size GF, big dreams. But shoot with small aperture - best aperture is Virgin aperture. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Then ? :embrass:

It was implying that f/128 is a bit excessive! We need bigger apertures when we are in situations where there is not sufficient light to allow f/22 etc. Also a bigger aperture allows partly for more creativity (D.O.F.)

What's a virgin aperture? :dunno:

But like that f/2.8 the image not as sharp as f/128 right based on smallaperture's equation :dunno:

No....It depends, f/2.8 could be as sharp as f/128, just less will be infocus.

e.g. flower up close (say 3m away) and buidling in the background (6m away):

f/2.8 flower nice and sharp, building blurred out

f/128 flower nice and sharp, building nice and sharp

Assuming we are at infinity focusing the infocus part of the image will be just as sharp at any aperture (of course, most lenses have a sweet spot of around f/8 so it may be slightly softer at f/2.8)

Its just like a general rule of thumb > smaller aperture = more infocus and sharp.

f/2.8 how to have the flower sharp? :dunno:

And what's infinity focusing? :dunno:

Post in the Newbie section or in the general section, this is getting too OT.
