haha... just wanna play with flash and lighting.

btw is 270ex gd enough??

iirc you don't have the ability to do manual.

Anyway this threads going so fast all of a sudden. So you guys meeting?

Say to meet for viewing la, never commit to buy before you see the lens yourself! Bring camera down to try. Shoot wide open and narrow. zoom in out see hows the output, check physical condition etc. check glass, front, end element no scratches, FUNGUS etc, minimal dust is acceptable la.

paiseh write so much, maybe you know all these already ;p

fast learner for 2nd hand buyer...

Can meet.

I meeting raylen at 2.30pm to get his tripod 1st then see how it goes.

So who else wanna raid OP tonight? :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

will a tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC be kind of "waste" if i'm to keep my 24-105 leh? I just can't justify getting the tele (70-200 f/4 IS) yet leh. but i know i like to zoom up close so i need the long reach and working in a big space environment helps too.

Was thinking that e tammy would serve as a good low light lens (without flash or when flash not allowed) while when flash is allowed my 24-105 is still my fav lens. hai hai.

bonus 0.25, have to think quite a bit leh. not enough to buy the tamron non VC.. :(

btw, NovJoe can help me check out Tamron 17-50 VC how muchie at HK? :p

My suggestion.. Keep the L. If to sell the L, the only next best thing is to get the heavier but faster 24-70.

Having said that, a 24 on 1.6 crop is too tight. A 17-50 is well sufficient in space constraints and low-light situations.

Btw, VC is more expensive than non-VC, no? :dunno:

Ya. Meeting him at 2.30pm at Peninsular.

yah, did think for a split second on the 24-70 but that league is way out for me for now, and real heavy :bsmilie:

the 24mm is actually fine for me if i keep doing the kind of events i do, cuz still coupled with my 10-22 mah :p

I just want a faster zoom lens (general) especially for low light and when i can't use zoom. Thus thought of the tammy again. the VC more ex, but leh, i think i'm spoilt by my IS on my L haa :sweatsm:

just hope i won't neglect my 24-105 if i get the tammy.

The 17-50 might not get the reach that u need at times but the plus is that, it is somehow fast in low-light but I dun like the AF motor of the tammy. The new 1 I not sure how's the performance but it's noisy for the old 1. :bsmilie:

24-70/2.8 is just good enuf for street shooting and general usage but abit heavy for traveling.

true true, it stretches to 70mm and the 2.8 is helpful but seriously if in dim lighting, speed can drop to say 1/10 with "acceptable" ISO being used, motion blur, handshakes occurs. oh well. if only there's a 18-200 f/2.8 IS L but no one might be able to afford or carry it :bsmilie:

travelling would be 10-22 + 24-105 ftw

Wah. 10x zoom with a wide aperture of 2.8. I think it's gonna weigh a tonne. Haha! :bsmilie:

The thread size could probably cost u a bomb to get a filter too. :bsmilie:
