Both are okay. ;) If price is a factor, go for Sigma else Canon.

Agree with Yoh. Both are pretty nice lenses.

But you can ask yourself, this, if you're going to use that 200mm zoom during traveling? Else, get a couple of small primes. It's much easier and more fun using primes during traveling. You'd most likely take pictures of people, or landscapes, food etc. Hardly would you zoom very far. Think about it. Just my little opinion.

Thanks yoh

now the tough part is to decide which one.
Sigma is cheaper and i will left over cash to fund for the 580exii that i have thinking of getting but yet to get.

Now where is the devil when i need him and her.. ahaha

I though of this option.. but GF might not approve the purchase and while traveling i tend to travel light cos most of the time i will end up carrying stuff :bsmilie:

The only main difference between these 2 lenses are the aperture at the tele end. Sigma at f/6.3 while Canon at f/5.6. Both have image stabilizer (in other words optical stabilizer in Sigma's definition) and Sigma package comes with hood etc.

As for the flash, get 580EX II when you really need it. ;) Otherwise get a 430EX II will do.

For my case, MOF prefers me to carry light setup than bring bulky lenses when we go on overseas trips. So I'll most probably use 450D body (w/out grip), 5 batteries, EF-S 17-55mm to solve my needs. :bsmilie: And perhaps a gorilla pod if I manage to find a cheap deal. :)

:bsmilie: Sigma is nowhere near Tokina in terms of lenses in similar range. Tokina's really build like a tank.
