I didn't know 580EXII can trigger 3rd party slaves.

So it's possible with the old firmware?

Just wondering how many flashes on the 580EX II can be shot normally? I went down to Takashimaya to shoot the Clarins Fashion show then went down to barrage to shoot some potraits and seems like my eneloop batts can only shoot up to 450 shots. Not sure if this is the normal count?

I was thinking of ordering another 16 pcs of eneloops for my BG and 580EX II but my pocket is going to burn again since I just got the 580EX II (brand new from HK) from a seller 2 days ago.

I nv count how many shots but one charge can last me about 2 to 3 events depending. Sometimes, I will add 'power' to my 580EXII with external battery pack (8 x AA).

just for reference, i normally use 4packs (16xAAs) per wedding or a fully charged Quantum battery pack last me a whole day. when i use AAs, i dont wait till they are fully drained. once the recharging gets longer or if i notice my flash not able to keep up with the pace, i replace with a new set. typically, a full day wedding can easily hits 3-4k shots.

not only the AAs, but also get more chargers unless u already have the 8xAAs charger.

I borrowed the original CP-E4 from my fren.

I am thinking of getting a 3rd party one. Original cost $200+. 3rd party cost less than $100. Haha! :bsmilie:
