While on burst mode my 50D give error message .... cannot remember exactly but it goes like 'lens contact dirty' only resume normal ops when I switch off, remove and replace the lens. This only happen with my brand new 17-55mm F2.8. Troublesome la.
Try cleaning the golden metallic parts bro. The electronic contacts.
It could be due to dust or moisture. Oxidisation unlikely as your body and lens are new.
Just wipe them clean with a microfibre or soft cloth can already.
thanks bro, it happen again earlier 'lens not communicating, clean contact'. will try to clean.

Yupp, that's a set back i'm looking at too. Rather get a 17-40L instead. My friend has problems with 17-55 many times until he fed-up and sell it away to upgrade to FF and get 24-70. Lol... :bsmilie:
Yupp, it's mostly the lens, because the mounting is not metal, it's plastic. So the lens can still shift a little even though locked incould it be the lens?
