BTW I dont think democracy is to follow the will of the majority.
U cannot just ask me to be silent, while I stand and see what I felt is wrong happening.
Democracy does not ask one to be silent. Democracy allows and encourages differences in opinions. However, in issues of law and order, the interests of the majority will have to be the determining factor. This of course is not the issue here.
I say again, I respect your intentions to help the poor, although I differ from you in that I do not expect returns. I understand the plight of the less fortunate. Years ago, I gave up a good job to work with the Vietnamese boat people and the Hmong (Miao) refugees (some of you may be too young to know those events). (My only regrets? Was not interested in photography then! Sigh!)
NOW, the issue is not asking you or Adam not to help the less fortunate. But to think ahead so that in the future, the donations from you and fellow donors will be better managed. Is this not something good?
You are right again to be concerned that if all stop their donation, the kidney sufferers will be the victims from the backlash. But what have been said here is that you, and Adam, and others like you, have misplaced concerns. Irrespective of the calculations, conservatively speaking, the reserves of NKF, will have more than enough to treat many kidney patients for many years.
I do not want NKF to fold up. I think NKF have done well in building up reserves. The means of course can be questioned, using lies (exaggerating the numbers of patients, the amount needed etc) and capitalising on the kindhearted nature of donors. But I want NKF to be careful with the money. I want NKF to be transparent with how things are done. Right now, NKF have started a process to defend themselves, ignoring all the nonsense they had created in and out of court. They are STILL UNREPENTENT! They are STILL RECALCITRANT! You know, the difference between the Germans and the Japanese on their roles in WWII?
I am waiting to give some directors a piece of my mind (I know some of them).
But I think you should think whether you should continue to give them your support at this point of time, which actually amounts to you agreeing with their way of doing things. Nobody would force you to do things you think are wrong. But ask yourself the implication of your continuing support.
NKF will not know what you are thinking, or your concerns. But when you give your support at this time, it will mean to them, that you endorse their ways of doing things. Do you want that?
Think again. Do not disagree for the sake of disagreeing.
