If you can please read the news papers and ponder on what has been reported.
I do not have an issue with the organization, the issue is with its management. Nor do I have an issue with you but your posting sound a little out of touch with reality.
For a charity set up to help kidney patients -- with 260mil of reserves it cannot even handle more than 44% of the people needing treatment. Money was donated to help save lives does that mean this 56% ( a majority) has the means to pay for treatment ? I assume that certain number will not get treatment and will die but what is worse is that if KDF with smaller resources actually handles the bulk of this 56%. From the numbers alone it is clear that NKF has to rethink what are its priorities and its goals - fund raising is important using the funds raised is even more important. No point telling us not enough money so some will die because of this lack. If I was being strict a 44% servicing rate does not sound like the sign of an effective organization.
If they cannot tackle their own task, they should confine themselves to completing their job before trying to tackle cancer care which is the area which Singapore Cancer Society addresses. Or does NKF also sees a need to build up reservers for cancer patients too ? Already we see the NKF cancer show clashing with the Singapore Cancer Society's cancer show.
Like our Minster of Health says giving for charity should go on, it is for the donor to decide after checking which one to give to. Full text go read the papers.

Reality will only hit home when u run into what others are encountering... to be rejected and spurred in whom u'd believed in and supported. Thus comes the chinese proverb (loosely translated) "Nice people gets struck by lightning".

I do not have an issue with the organization as well, but i do agree that the organization needs to be "more" transparent (is this the right word?) to the public.

Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan told The Straits Times yesterday the NKF must provide more information and explain its actions to regain the public's confidence. :thumbsup:
Politicians like MP Chong Weng Chiew echoed Mr Khaw's call for greater transparency, in particular, its expenditure 'on publicity, manpower, administration and patients'. He also wants to know how the NKF assesses patients for subsidies, as he had been approached many times by kidney-failure patients who had been rejected by the NKF. :thumbsup:
Non-constituency MP Steve Chia said yesterday Mr Durai should resign as 'he has lost his moral authority to ask for money'. :thumbsup:
