We have the Rainbow club, we have Singapore Cancer Foundation, we have Breast Cancer Foundation.

Since NKF's speciality is to provide care for Kidney paitents and there are other more specialised foundations in Singapore doing Cancer research and after-service care, why duplicate the functions of another society when ur speciality is not in this area in the first place?

The big question remains.

Do these organizations have the abilities of NKF to get such wild spread of awareness to the public?

I know Rainbow club, i voluntered with them before. They are trying their best, and it's adequate.

And why not use NKF's funds to help out another group of people who are getting adequate help? or should NKF's funds be used for collecting interest?

of course i benefit from NKF. I get comfort that i donate money to them, and people get help from it. They might not be able to save all, but they do help.

Yeah right, you forget to add that you also get comfort from the fact that your donation goes towards paying his 12 months bonuses, 1st class air ticket, $990 tap, blah blah blah. :thumbsd:

Democracy allows for a lot of nonsense, including standing anywhere one choose to stand.

Please do not take this as an attack on your choices to do what you feel is right. I applaud your care and concern for the less fortunate. You have a much more noble attitude than many of us here.

There are many ways to do things. There are some who feel that exercising some "wisdom" in how to channel their money is important. They do not want their money to be wasted in frivolous ways. But some, like you, do not mind some of your money going to the toilet of the CEO. Others do not. I do not want my money to fund the CEO's personal mercedes. It does not matter even if the board had agreed to this (I cetainly would like to see the employment contract!).

I want to maximise the utilisation of my money. So I exercise a little more care. But you are entitled to give your money to anyone and allow that person to do anything with your money, including having a nice toilet.

NKF will not collapse if money stops coming in today. Even if there is ZERO income for the next few years, the patients will not suffer the slightest bit, unless of course NKF is vindictive. In which case they should cease to exist.

But sending NKF a strong signal to mange your money properly is very important. It will be an iimportant wake-up call. Otherwise they will capitalise on attitudes like yours to continue doing what they were doing.

Nah... Considering the fact that I'm earning salt serving the country and a CEO of a social welfare and health organisation who's earning peanuts, I don't think I'm low.

Making the patients pay 80% (24 mil out of 30 mil) of the cost is not charity...it's a bloody 20% DISCOUNT.

Even commercial companies, like SP Services give vouchers to those who can't pay for utilities and help them work out installment plans so that they can continue getting electricity and water.

Charity is done out from goodwill and it shd not be a challenge.

And personally i feel that, when someone have done a charity or any good course, do he or she need to keep telling what he or she has done??? That wun be good course anymore as they only want to show off, am i right?

Anyway, the one who giving are the benifit too cos they can see what have they become. It always the most fortunate to be a giver.

I personally think that Mr Durai has not been telling the whole world about his work. I don't think anyone in general public really know who is running NKF, till this whole thing come out.

I don't see this as an attack of my choice, but rather would see it as an exchange of views. I agree that democracy is here for me to stand on what I believe. I disagree however, "Democracy allows for a lot of nonsense". With democracy, only would I know what others are thinking of. and how I can seek a balance for my existence in this world.

I care where my money go to. I also know that i cannot expect someone to just run an organization like NKF by getting peanuts (that word again) for it.
