Consistency/ style of moderating should be consistent

Hi,

just a small suggestion which i have observed. Each moderator tends to use his/ her own style to moderate. As such, you get a 'A' response from Moderator A and 'B' from Moderator 'B'.

WHile i know that each one of us are different, perhaps there can be some consideration of consistency so that users are not confused.

I.e I see that Chngpe is quick to close threads without explainations (sometimes he doesnt explain much and people are shocked and having to accept his decision [his way or the highway], Ortega is nice to explain details, Kei implements infractions without having the explain and have you discovered his reasons (in a rude way), Clown sometimes is quick to close topic while other times friendly to explain why he does so, etc.

Without a common approach, people can be confused by the moderation. AT least i was when i first started. It deters people from coming to the website and makes it very 'Singaporean' (Dont question the authority style). (You would want to reduce miscommunication and encourage the right people to come right...?)

My small suggestion is to have a consistent way/ or simple rules of the thumbs that moderators can agree upon and not gg by each individual style.

Even large corporations train their GM in their corporate values so that no matter where they are deployed, the organization culture and values are kept consistent.

My two cents. Thanks for reading.

I do agree that it will be Good if there is a possibility of “Consistency/ style of moderating should be consistent”

ClubSNAP have a set of culture and values to upkeep, But we are do not run as a corporations, as all Moderators are all on Volunteer basis.

Everyone of the moderators here are difference, each with its own unique personality, just like a Good composition photos, each with its own characters. But ClubSNAP do have a set of Guidelines for moderators to adhere to when performing their moderation duties.

1: ClubSNAP Operational Structure, Processes, Roles & Responsibilites
2: Infractions : A What-Is & How-To guide
3: Forum Features Guide (Mods)
Etc.

If only members do take some time to read the forums FAQ http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/faq.php and not test the forums rules & regulations or experiment on the limits of the endurance of Moderators.

Every Moderators here take time off during their break time or during work or studies to assist in the management of ClubSNAP forums.

An example, to replied to this thread, i have to take sometime to read and compose a reply 15-30mins???

With the amount of threads being posted by so many users, individual Reported Thread, PM complaints, etc that needed to attend to, the moderators team, does not have time to post a "response" to every thread they close or infraction they give.

Have been busy and absent here for the past few weeks, just happened to see this last night.

Not sure why I am being single out. But then being a moderator is not like joining a popularity contest.

So to be consistent with "my style of moderating" I will be quick to close this thread without giving any explanation. (actually it is self explanatory most of the time , expect that some ppl are slow to see it) ;)
